Bio and Links
Bio Photo On Palm Sunday, April 11, 1965 271 people were killed, and over 1000 injured, through out different states, by a series of killer tornadoes.
The Palm Sunday Tornado Memorial is dedicated to all who lost their lives that day, and to the many survivors. The HEREOS of that day can not be numbered. The love, concern, and encouragement shown by so many on, and after that day, will never be forgotten. Just as our loved ones that we lost, will never be forgotten.
I am a survivor, along with my parents, and my brother Mike. But my brother Stevie was taken that day. He, along with all of the others are sadley missed, but will always live on in our hearts.
Today, I am married, the mother of 2, and grandmother of 2.
On October 25th 2006, my beloved Father, Chuck Forsythe went to heaven. He will be greatly missed. He was one that encouraged me to build the memorial. He was also one that labored getting the land cleared, and was there to help from step one. You could clearly see the pain in his eyes when ever Palm Sunday 1965 was mentioned.
But he was a strong one, and he was always there to comfort someone, and help ease their pain.
I love you Dad... I always will. Give Stevie a hug for me.
There will be a memorial service in honor of the 271 people killed on Sunday, April 11th at 3:30 P.M.
It will be held at the memorial on the corner of C.R. 45 and Cole Street in Elkhart.

No, dur, I just read it wrong, Sorry. I should be coming though on the 11th. So if you get a chance tojot down some directions, after I get off the bypass on 33, I know I go right there..down to like the mall, then..... Thanks..oh, also, are we able to add my little brother's name, even though we are just over the St Jos co. line???? If not, maybe I can do something on their side, maybe something by the 50th anniversary. Wow, we are gettin up there, when we remember back 1/2 century..lol Pam O'B

45 yr ann./ Palm Sun. Tornado
Hi, Debbie
My name is Pamela I also lost a brother in the tornado. Tommy Lee age 3. I was very grateful to see your article in the SB Tribune about the Memorial you have built and the service you will have on 3-28-10. I plan on attending, If you receive this message prior to the service, I was wondering if I could get more accurate directions. Thank-you, and look very forward to meeting you, I hope!!! 574-298-8580. I live in South Bend, but will be leaving from Wakarusa and more than likely taking S.R. 19 to bypass, then exit on 33, lost from here...
