Love history, gardening, books, my grandkids, my 5 rotten little dogs, 2 cats, & working on Find A Grave, and animal welfare activities.|
Find A grave, for me, is about honoring the persons we create memorials for. It should NOT just be a NUMBERS GAME.
PLEASE READ THE FAQ pages at Find A Grave I will no longer take action on requests sent to me any way other than using the edit button on memorials I have entered. I will be happy to honor requests done in this manner if they fall within the FAG guidelines.

|EndMyLineMuir||Nancy A Elgan Payne|
Nancy Elgan Payne was my grandmothers' maternal aunt, who raised her as a foster child from April 1886 until her death in 1901. My grandmother was Exa Maurine Hedrick. Her mother, Nancy's youngest sister Ida Mae Elgan Hedrick, died when Exa was born. Ida was 22 and had been married only a year. Her young husband left the new baby with Nancy and John Payne to be raised and left Texas.
As far as I know from family info and research, there was never an adoption, but Exa, my grandmother, was raised as the 4th daughter in Nancy and John's family.
Is it possible to add Exa Maurine Hedrick as a foster child in the FindAGrave record for Nancy A Elgan Payne? I would appreciate it very much.
Thank you for your assistance,

Hi Rita...I saw your request for a photo for Thressa Hunt's grave in Hopewell Cemetery in Axtell. I do not live in the area but I teach at Axtell High School...so I will be on the search to try to get your photo after school today. I didn't want to claim in case I don't find it..:) Will let you know!
