|Victoria McCoy||Hi Darryl|
I am sorry, but i lost all my emails. I have contacted you in years, but I have found new info about my Ohlmacher relatives from Germany. I was wondering if you might be able to explain something.
I have found several census that state my great-grandfather was born in Nassau, and Hessen, Darmstadt. I have looked at a map of Hessen, and I can't figure it out. Some info I had stated he was born in Frankfurt.
Is Hessen a state like Mississippi is? Is Darmstadt a city? What exactly is Nassau?
Since I last communicated with you, I have found more of my ancestors, the eldest was Johann Valentin Ohlemacher, from Nassau, Deggendorf, Bayern, Germany, born in 1735. He married Katharina Elisabeth Schmidt, my 6th great grandmother, born 1753, in Zinse, Siegen-Wittgenstein, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
Its all so confusing. Thanks for anything you may have to offer to shed light on the cities!
Hopes this finds you well.
