My late wife and I were first introduced to Find A Grave in 2009 after her sister had become a member. It wasn't long before we also became quite involved, especially after deciding to become photo volunteers. We soon became aware of one great benefit that we had not expected. We began to make many new friends from all parts of the country and we discovered a great many relatives, both living and deceased, that we didn't even know existed. During the first three years of our membership, it was our pleasure to visit a great many cemeteries in north Texas and southern Oklahoma, the area known as "Texoma", where we fulfilled as many photo requests as possible. We also photographed a great many other grave markers and applied them to memorials that lacked a photograph and in many cases we created memorials and did as much research as possible to honor that person. We also photographed and researched many cemeteries from other parts of the country during our retirement years when we had the opportunity to travel.|
My wife, Phyllis Elaine, passed away in March, 2012. Since that time, I have continued my various activities with Find A Grave. I still enjoy doing volunteer photos for folks requesting them and do this mostly in the "Texoma" area where I live.
I created a Find A Grave memorial for my late wife and if there are folks who would care to view it, go to my list of virtual cemeteries at the right side of the page and click on the one bearing her name. Her biography tells the story of the life that we shared and of the wonderful wife and mother that she was to those of us who will always love her and cherish her memory.
Update: November 2015
During the past year or so, it has become increasingly difficult for me to fulfill photo requests, which often require a great deal of walking while searching for specific grave markers. I still very much enjoy doing this and will continue to do so in a limited way until my old back and legs force me to stop completely.
My age and physical limitations have caused me to feel some concern regarding the many Find A Grave memorials under my management. In order to assure that these memorials and any future memorials that I may create continue to be properly managed after my own incapacitation or death, I am arranging for them to be transferred to new management by a very capable Find A Grave member and genealogist.
Beginning October 6, 2015, I began transferring memorials to my good friend Richard K. Thompson of Fairfield, Iowa, member #46900770. Richard is a long time genealogist and has assisted me with my own genealogy efforts for several years. He has readily agreed to accept edits, photos, etc. for any of the memorials transfered into his care.
I intend to continue being active with Find A Grave for as long as I can. The years that I have engaged in these activities have been very enjoyable and rewarding. Although we almost never meet in person, I am thankful for "meeting" thousands of friends and relatives while engaged in these Find A Grave activities. My profile page will remain here just as it always has and I invite anyone interested to visit any of my Virtual Cemeteries. They will continue to be active. All memorials formerly under my care that have been transferred to Richard Thompson can still be seen in my "Transferred to Others" virtual cemetery.

Yes, I did like those videos of Oesch die Dritton. I'm glad you
like the photo of beautiful Anna Nicole Smith who is from
TX. Born in Houston, raised in Mexia. That red haired girl
will be back up shortly, though. I'm just experimenting a
little, changing my page up with new photos. Hope you have
a wonderful Fall weekend also. It is a bit "nippy" out tonight.
And the weather was beautiful today. Hope it stays that
way! :-) Best wishes, my friend.
|Cinnamon Girl||RE: Your Profile Photo|
Hello Lyle -
I will definitely look at the videos you recommended. My
email address is not listed on my page any longer. I have
had trouble in the past with several Find A Grave members and I no
longer do emails with people. Just the public messages. But
many have their messages turned off, so I suspect they have
trouble also. It's really been a nightmare for me, but I hope
you will understand. Please public message me anytime,
Have a blessed night, friend. ~ Jean Ann
|Cinnamon Girl||RE: Profile Photo|
Hi Lyle -
So good to hear from you. Yes, I changed my profile photo
and am glad you like it. It is not me, unfortunately. That is a
photo of a power couple from the sixties. David Ruffin (the
lead singer for The Temptations) and Tammi Terrell (the
musical partner of Marvin Gaye). I am such a fan of both of
them. If you get a chance, watch the video for "My Girl" by
The Temptations and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by
Tammi Terrell and Marvin Gaye. Both of these are fabulous!
Hope you're having a wonderful night. - Jean Ann

You are very welcome. Your story and your wife's bio are very touching.
|Ellen Beene||RE: Greene Photos, Calvary Cemetery|
Thank you so very much I have not been on Findagrave in several years due to family issues. I wish I could do more myself to honor all the family members who have passed. I am grateful to be able to do what I can around here locally. I wish you the best and my condolences to hear about your wife. Best wishes and prayers for you and your own health.
|Kathleen Bond||RE: Hayes Memorials|
You are very welcome. I try very hard to complete as much information for family memorials as I can. Always wish I could do more than just give a place of birth and death, but I feel it is very important to link the family memorials together. Gives me a feeling of being able to join them so they aren't alone.
Thank you again for all you do.
|Cinnamon Girl||RE: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!|

appreciate it very much. Thanks for thinking of me. Have
