After studying my own family tree, I started the Daglish One-Name Study.

A One-Name Study researches the origins and distribution of a name, as well as all persons with that surname, and any variants.

One-Name Studies can often provide useful information to others with interests in the name. You can see a list of registered One-Name Studies at the Guild of One-Name Studies website.

As part of my research I often visit graveyards and cemeteries and have begun to take an interest in memorials with other surnames, typically the less common names and often those studied by fellow members of the Guild of One-Name Studies.

I am not so interested in the graves of famous people - rather those of "ordinary" people whose lives are remembered.

Incorrect photo for #15252758
The photo you placed on the memorial for Kenneth Ford is not the right person. William Kenneth Ford was the son of Oscar M. Ford & Julia Frances Trammell and he was killed overseas.
1943 DECEMBER 11: FINAL REPORT ARMED FOREIGN SERVICE from Report of Deaths of American Citizens Abroad --- Pilot Officer William Kenneth Ford letter sent to "Mrs. O. Ford, mother, of 1117 Douglas Avenue, Las Vegas, New Mexico; Cause of Death: Unknown-missing as result of air operations; place of death - Unknown."
This report was sent from Glenn A. Abbey, American Consul to the mother of William Kenneth Ford. His death is listed as 31 May 1942, Unknown - missing as a result of air operations.
Thank you.

Charles Dupueis
Many thanks for this. However, I already knew about this memorial and have left"virtual flowers" on the relevant webpage. I am the daughter of the plane's navigator, and the co-author, with my father Reginald Wilson, of a book about the search for the crash site and the retrieval of the bones of one of the other crew members, John Bremner, and about his ceremonial burial in Berlin in 2008. My latest search is for family members of the late Charles Dupueis, as I would like to give them a copy of the book. For reference, it is called "Into the Dark", and was published in May 2015 by www.Fightinghigh.com The co-authors are myself, Janet Hughes (née Wilson) and my father, Reginald Wilson. Charles Dupueis was the plane's mid upper gunner.

Kind regards,

Jan Hughes

Hi Daglish!

Just wanted to thank you for adding the photo of my great Uncle's grave. My grandmother (his sister) is unfortunately no longer with us, but I'm glad I can pass this along to my dad, so thank you very much!
