"Remember me in my family tree; my name, my days, my strife; and I shall ride upon the wings of time, and live an endless life." Gone But Not Forgotten....
From "How Green Was My Valley" by Richard Llewellyn:
" I saw behind me those who had gone, and before me those who are to come, I looked back and saw my father, and his father, and all our fathers, and in front to see my son, and his son, and the sons upon sons beyond. And their eyes were my eyes.
As I felt, so they had felt, and were to feel, as then, so now, as tomorrow and forever. Then I was not afraid, for I was in a long line that had no beginning and no end, and the hand of his father grasped my father's hand and his hand was in mine, and my unborn son took my right hand, and all, up and down the line that stretched from Time That Was to Time That Is, and is Not Yet, raised their hands to show the link, and we found that we were one, born of Woman, Son of Man, made in the Image, fashioned in the Womb by the Will of God, the Eternal Father."
A little about me... Glasgow High School graduate Western Kentucky University: Bachelor of Arts Degree Masters - Folklore I have always enjoyed oral history at an early age. Wish I had asked more questions now... In 1994 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer, went through surgery and chemo, I was given 3-6 years to live. So after I recovered from the treatments, in 1996 I decided to sell my home of 20 years and go on the road to research my family 1st-hand that were in my family files. I became a "fulltimeRVer" for six years; following the paths of my ancestors was a memorable experience and very humbling at times. I visited so many places I would never have visited otherwise... courthouses, libraries, cemeteries, meeting family and getting to actually stand on family land that my ancestors owned. Well, I am still here, I guess I still have ancestors to find and their stories to tell..... the oral history is out there, I just have to find the descendant that it was passed down to.. | |

 | Odd Fellows edits Thanks, as always, for the information. I've added it to the bio's in it's entirety, and amended the birth dates to match the DC's and added to the notes for clarification where necessary. | | | LaDon Brennan

 | Jehu and Sarah Geron and Tobe and Florence Geron Info Thank you for adding my Great Grandfather and Grandmother Tobe and Florence and Great Great Grandfather and Grandmother Jehu and Sarah Geron. to find a grave. Because of what you added, I was able to connect Tobe to what I entered which is one of his son's (my Grandfather) John Ed Geron. I am still working on getting a picture of his and Granma Ruby Geron's Tombstone but it is more than I had listed previously.
Thank you.

 | Private Schaap & family (Sacramento City Cemetery) Laura, I'm so pleased that you found Private Frank Schaap's marker. You've created a very lovely profile (I've deleted mine and added the photo to your site). I also transferred several other members of the Schaap family at the same cemetery. There are eight members buried there, Frank is buried in plot 105-2085 (as are Enez, Grave, and Sarah). Additionally there is Mary Ellen, Robert Grove, and Thomas in Plot 129-34. Lastly, Alden Schaap is in Plot 102-56. VV | | | Bill Foster (W.L.Foster )
 | Foster Memorials Laura , Thank you for working with me connecting up the family members ----I was sadden to learn many of the Memorials for Austin Foster & T Crit's family were missing / Deleted after I spent so much time creating the memorials and linking them there in Barren Co after all my years of research ! | RE: Overstreet obit Thanks Laura, I like helping too.
So happy your cancer is in remission! I lost one of my best friends to ovarian cancer a few years ago. No one should ever have to deal with cancer, hopefully some day soon they will find a cure. Pam | | | | [View all messages...] |
