Well your right about not being the next county over. I was here working for a few days and was able to get away for about twenty minute and photograph graves. Today I fly out, perhaps a once in a lifetime trip. I'm glad I was able to help.

Dale, are you related to Washington McCoy?

Your group memorial of the men who served in Co. K of the 5th Kentucky Cavalry is very interesting. I spoke during the Memorial Day program at Skaggs Creek Cemetery a couple years ago and shared information about this unit. Andrew Chapman was my great-great grandfather and William Clemons my 3rd great grandfather. Dena

No, I was not. I do not live in Monroe County but did grow up there. I had originally read about it in the Tompkinsville News and sent a donation. So it was nice to be able to visit the cemetery this spring over Easter weekend. While there, I took photos of all the tombstones but quite a few have no names or are not readable.
Thank you so much for the photo request fulfillments! I was hoping to help document this cemetery for fellow Hart County researchers who can not travel there.

Thanks for the information on James Amyx.
There is a Mary B. Maxey Amyx ( # 15874271) noted in the bio. as the spouse Louis H Amyx.
If you want James's memorial transferred send a message. We are not related to him.
