From the Central Coast of California,I am tracing my family Eastward as I go back in time. My family came out in the 1930's, just ahead of the dust bowl Oakies. My wife's family came to California with Fr. Sera.|
My primary family lines are Allred, Burton, Gandy, Grigsby, Jones, Schmidt, Todd, and Wallace.

I would love to get the history of the Family history report on the Pombers. I do believe that the memorial #57969154 of Jose Manuel Pomber has the middle name of Rafael. From what I can tell, Rafael was a separate person. I think the brothers might have both died in 1886, but I am waiting for the records from the Catholic ( something ) in Monterey. Jose was born in about 1840 and Rafael was born in about 1844.

I also noticed that you have taken several photos that I would like to use on my Ancestry.com family tree. I am researching the Pomber family. My husband's Great Grandfather was John Charles Doyle. We always knew that he changed his name as an adult. He was raised at the Pajardo Catholic Childrens Asylum after his parents died in about 1886, when he was 4 years old. After talking to what is the high school now and a Priest in Monterey, we believe that his parents were Rafael Pomber and Mary Ellen Doyle Pomber. We are working on trying to gather information. We have not found where they are buried yet or exact dates of death. They are mailing me a package to see if we can figure this out. The brothers that went to the Orphanage were Ralph and John Pomber. John was born in Castroville.
