Bio and Links
Bio Photo A member of the Permian Basin Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Midland, Texas. I am researching all 228 men who died in Vietnam from 30 West Texas Counties. Project includes finding burial sites.

I am also attempting to locate the final burial places and pictures of all Veterans who died in the Vietnam War. The Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Fund is in the process of building a new education center which will house the photos of all Vietnam casualties. I am involved in this project. If any one has a picture of a Vietnam casualty, please let me know.

I am attempting to add memorial tributes to those Vietnam deaths as I find them at findagrave. I am using data from many sources. One of the best is www.virtualwall.org. This is a copyrighted site. I have been a 10 year contributor and assist them when and where I am asked. I am not on their staff. I have obtained permission to utilize some of their material. That permission, however, is limited and does not give other contributors the permission to copy and use that material without obtaining authorization from www.virtualwall.org.

Other sources includes Department of Defense Form 1330 headstone request information. I do not have actual copies of these requests but do have means to obtain copies from other researchers such at www.virtualwall.org and Robert Sage of Austin, Texas. This information, however, was documented a short time following the death of the service member. There have been instances where a service member was disinterred and moved to another grave site at a later date. Some of the information gives a burial locale and not a specific cemetery. In those instances, the headstone was most often delivered to the Funeral Home, or when delivered to a family member, they made their own arrangements to the set the headstone.

Other sites that I utilize is the Wall Project at www.vvmf.org. This is the actual site of the Wall. Some of the information includes other contributors who have documented information there. I attempt to give credit as I can.

Other sites include www.thewall-usa.com. Finally, I have utilized information from family, friends and acquaintances to document the Vietnam casualty's final resting place. Invaluable is the contribution of the findagrave community. These volunteers have assisted in actually locating and documenting burial sites.

There are occasionally errors and omissions, but I will correct that when I receive creditable information.

Daniel Philip Ratledge
Thank you Mr. Brown for the memorial for my nephew Daniel Philip Ratledge who died in Vietnam.
It took my breath away when I saw the picture of him on the site. I wondered at the fact that he looked happy. Maybe because he had only a matter of weeks before he would be on his way home. Is it possible for me to obtain a copy of the picture?

Sincerely,
Beverly2007@hotmail.com

Thank you for taking the time to memorialize those Viet Nam Vets who gave their lives in service to their country. My brother served in Viet Name but thankfully returned home to us physically uninjured.

Hi Mr. Brown,
I did inform FG why I was leaving my page up til I heard from you - in hopes the tokens and sponsorship could be saved -, and they merged the two pages so that your original stays up (which is what I wanted), but...they left the extreme name error as is. Your page now carries my mistake - Be Childers is listed as this gentleman's last name. I'm sorry to cause you all of this work, but I was told you have to change the name in editing from your end? I just wanted to let you know where things stood - Have a good day. Best, RCP and Gannon Blue

Dear Mr. Brown,
You may recognize my name from the site; I'm always so far behind on Thank Yous that I don't know whether I've ever specifically told you thanks for all your hard work on here....I just noticed something, and I am at fault: I have been 'cleaning up' my pages lately, making sure that info I was given is correct, etc., and I duplicated a page of yours, for a Vietnam casualty, James Stanley Childers. It happened because the handwritten info forwarded to me showed his initial "B" to pretty much look like "Be" - I mistakenly put James in as "Be Childers". The light began to go off when I could not find anything on him under that, and it tracked right to your page...my question is, what can I do? I want you to keep your original page, of course, but Mr. Childers has a ton of tokens on mine, and I have sponsored him, as well. Do I just let it all drop? =( I luckily enough had a similar issue last week (note: never try to work on this site whden you are recovering from eye surgery and can't see a darned thing), and the gentlman, Jay, very kindly switched everything to my page...but as said, I am more that aware you'd no doubt like to keep your own work up. Please let me know what I should do, if you can do anything, and again, my apologies. I wear Roy Orbison level shades most of my waking moments, and so that'll tell you that this was not carelessness on my part, I just completely missed it. Best, RCP and Gannon Blue

Thank you so much for your note and graphic that you left at Doug's Memorial. I have updated it some, with the help of Jim. I am currently trying to add his medals to the photo section, i see them when I add them. But when I go back over to the bio page? They are not showing. And when I type his name in, 2 other Doug Woodlands show up, but not the page I've had up there for years. Very mystifying. THANK YOU.
