Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been interested in genealogy and doing genealogical research for over 40 years, especially the Beetem, Sanders, Scott, Skaggs, Shanks, Chapman, Kibler, and Parcel families. While it's always exciting to find new names and dates, my biggest thrills come from discovering stories about my ancestors and learning more about their daily lives.

My family has been mowing and caring for cemeteries for over 30 years. My job is weed-eating around the stones and my husband has always teased me about working so slowly because I am more interested in reading the stones than trimming around them!! I couldn't begin to count the hours we have spent straightening stones and trying to keep fallen stones from disappearing into the overgrowth.

I enjoy photographing cemeteries as a way of preserving the history contained in them.

Wright stones
Thank you for contributing to Find a Grave and mowing the small out of the way places so I can see pictures of the Wrights(first wives to the Greathouse men) I am related to Francis Greathouse (1831-1917). I visited Edwards County in Oct of 1971 and have not been back. Sorry, not many stories. Great Uncle Charlie Greathouse came back in 1964 or so to take care of his Uncle Cleveland Greathouse in a big house not far from one of the Cemeteries. (Brown or Greathouse) I believe this house would have been the Francis Greathouse house before Cleveland had it. Uncle Charlie and Grand-dad Harry moved away in about 1921 when they were ten and seven. They liked to follow their older brothers around to go hunt squirrel and rabbit while living in IL. Lynn

Westminster Memorial Gardens Old Mausoleum
I have obtained permission to take pictures of the plaques in the Old Mausoleum. My husband + 2 friends and I will be taking them mid-July. Please accept my burial locations; they were obtained from the Trust Company Vice-President who owns the mausoleum. If you are wanting some photos right away, please request a photo because we will be adding them first. Thanks!!! ~Peggy

RE: Baughman and Mount Cemeteries
The graves of the Gross children were hard to comprehend. I can't begin to imagine how that must have felt. From my genealogy work I found that Mary Gross died in the state mental hospital in Anna, Il. That makes sense now. Our family tree in Johnson Twp. doesn't appear to have many branches; I keep stumbling upon the same names. There are lots of Partlows, Larrisons, Cribelars and Hires. Good thing the rest of my family are from other parts!

Thanks so much for all your help.

RE: Baughman Cemetery
I found it, but it wasn't easy. I had to stop and ask Leslie and Jason Roberts, but they knew exactly where it was. I am related to the Grosses. I took a few pictures but most of the stones were covered with moss and gunk and the lighting wasn't very good so I'm not sure how well they turned out. What a cool little cemetery! My husband, who is from Detroit, thinks I'm a little crazy to be excited by a tiny little cemetery in the middle of nowhere. Apparently his family doesn't do cemeteries.

I also found the Partlow Cemetery, which was fairly easy. Next time I'll be looking for the Mound or Mount Cemetery.

Thanks so much for your help!

RE: Restitution/Slusser Cemeteries
You two have taken on a tremendous job and I am very thankful for it. It's hard to keep up with the grass this time of year! Debbie, have you ever heard of the Baughman Cemetery? Supposedly it's down south of town but I can't find it on any plat map. There are supposed to be some graves there in our family that I've been looking for. Any help you can offer would be great.

Thanks again!
Andrea

Restitution/Slusser Cemeteries
Debbie,
Thanks for all the hard work you have shared here. I was at Restitution and Slusser Cemeteries with my mom, Sandi Ramsay, to decorate graves and took several pictures of family members there. We are related to the Hires, Cribelar and Fox families. I was pleasantly surprised to find you have already documented most of these graves. Thanks for preserving the family histories of so many people. I used to work with Roy at the Casey Post Office, as did my brother, Rusty Timmons.
Thanks again,
Andrea Timmons Mueller

RE: JF Morriss
You are welcome Debbie. Strange thing is I have the Morris family as direct grandparents on my dad's side. This particular gentleman, however, connects with my mom's Fendley family from Oldham County. I would like to see if this Morris line connects with my dad's side of the tree. As best as I can tell, there won't be a connection until I can study the family connections in England.
