Havlik Vavra Cemetary
A scattering of abandoned graves about 300 yards NW of the intersection of FM 332 and FM 2502 at Wesley, Brenham Texas. The entrance gate is marked at the roadside.

Why isn't this cemetary being kept up. It's overgrown. Just came from there yesterday 10/27/2015. Who is in charge of cleaning it?

My husband was taking photos for his friend who is a member of the Havlik family.

Juliette Harrison
Thank you so much for the picture. Mrs. Harrison is the mother of Hetty Harrison Curry - a member of the William Scott Chapter NSDAR which celebrates 100 years of service to the Bryan/College Station area. We have tried to find all our deceased members to make sure they were on Find a Grave plus were honored as members. And somehow we just found ourselves extending it to parents and children. Thanks you for helping us complete our goal.

Memorial 48345852 The date of birth on this memorial is incorrect and should read 1819. I'm sure I sent that edit at the beginning of the year but it is still reading the same. Thanks!

Maggie Garrett (re: Chris Easley conversation)
The stone I photographed is indeed in Camptown and not Walker. I have never been to Walker. I am not generally in the habit of transposing photo files across cemeteries, thank you kindly.

RE: memorial in wrong cemetery
I have no idea where Maggie is buried. I sent out the SAC simply as a means to notify you that there is a possibility that you have the wrong burial location on the memorial. I was not searching for Maggie but rather another 'Garrett' and that's when I saw the two memorials in different cemeteries. It's completely up to you as to what if anything you want to do about her burial location. Perhaps the easiest thing to do is to make a note on your memorial to the effect of: 'Death certificate shows East End/Walker Cemtery as burial location. However a headstone for her exists in Camptown Cemtery also in Brenham, TX.' And then just leave it at that. The contributor who created the other memorial has created a substantial amount of memorials and has been involved with this site for a good number of years. Both of which lead me to feel, they made no error in the placement of where they photographed the headstone. Death certificates, as I'm sure you know, are chock full of errors as well. Could that be the case here? Probably not, but you just never know.

RE: Valerie Gahn image
The caption explains that this (Alva Wilkins) is an unmarked grave, so there is no stone for her. I updated the caption to include that the floral arrangement marks the gravesite. This info is also true for the grave of Lee Wilkins who is buried next to Alva. I don't know the names for the stones in the back of the photo, but if there would have been any other Wilkins in that section/block, I would have taken a photo. Hope this helps.
You might want to contact the office at Greenwood Memory Lawn about Jack Wilkins. The office is staffed 7 days, I think.

Regards,
Barbara
