Mmmm... he is also listed in the Iowa County Death Records....(go under Family It states: "Fillmore, Winneshiek, Iowa".. Now I also see him listed on the MN DC Index... so I suspect that he probablydid die in Fillmore County, MN. So your info is probably correct.... L

You have the wrong children listed. He is my husband's Grandfather. I have listed the correct children.

Good ideas. When it warms up here, will go back and get a photo of the grassy (even though it's brown) knoll and the Potters Field marker. Meant to do it the other day but was so disappointed that hardly any markers are visible, so moved on to another area of the cemetery. The Woodlawn Cemetery manager told me there are no birthdates in their records. The Bay Area Genealogical Society website record has his age at 35 when he passed. That would mean he was born about 1833. You might try contacting them at to see if anyone can locate an obituary for you in an old Green Bay newspaper of 1868. Will place any new photos online to you when I get back to the cemetery. Bulldog

The Woodlawn Cemetery records state this individual is buried in the City Lot. This land is considered a Potters Field and there is a stone marker indicating this. The land is directly south of the office and adjacent to Webster Ave. Less than a dozen markers are visible and most cannot be read, even with a rubbing. Was not able to locate a marker for any of the eighteen (18) requests. Sorry!

Hi Ann - thanks for the tip on her maiden name. I overlooked adding it, must have been asleep, ha. I knew her Dad, went to church with Warren, and to school with Danny. Good to hear from you!

What is Ellen Purcell's memorial number? I'll link Minard Smith to her.

Thank you for the great photo! We were able to confirm his Civil War service with the tombstone info in the shot you took.

Can you please Transfer Management of Mildred S Guzik (in Find A Grave) to me (reguzik) as she is my mother. I'm curious as to how you ended up adding my mom to Find a Grave?
