Mary Upchurch Vinson
Hi John My name is Diane Corkery. Mary Upchurch Vinson was my great grandmother. I have been hunting for 3 yrs. for more information on the family. Mary's daughter Belle Vinson was my grandmother. The other Mrs. Vinson you mentioned I believe was Mary's mother -in law. I did not know about Sarah Jane Vinson Cole. You have all so posted information on a Sarah Virginia Booth Vinson buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery Al. Mary was the 1st wife of James R. Vinson. Where did you find the marriage date of Sarah and James. I had not been able to find it and do you know where they were married? Would love to hear from you. My e-mail : dianew.corkery@ymail.com. Thanks Diane Corkery

RE: Memorial #94231602 J. C. POOL
Also, I am a member of a group on FB called "Find a Grave Genealogy Discussion". I am hearing about using large "LED" flashlight parallel to the face of a gravestone allows for better pictures. They are saying, this enhances the readability of older gravestones? I have not tried it; however, I am packing one for my next trip.

RE: Memorial #94231602 J. C. POOL
Hey, John. Thanks for the reply. You may also notice the marriage info lists John as: John L.C. Pool. Also to note, John and Rebecca's daughter, Mini Itura Pool, was married to John Tiner Folmar, who is the grandson of John Nicholas Folmar(1785-1840). John Nicholas Folmar is my 3rd ggrandfather. Hugh Ross Rodgers is my 2nd ggrandfather.

To note also, John L.C. Pool and Family lived in Goshen, Pike County, Alabama with the my Folmar, Rodgers and Davis descendants before moving to Texas. My father and grandfather were from Goshen, Alabama (or Western Pike County). Remembering, Western (or Goshen) Pike Co. included the Eastern Portion of Crenshaw County prior to 1866. Crenshaw County was formed as a re-distribution of counties in 1866.

I have also been in touch with L. McCardle. I was able to find Thomas Jefferson Rodgers and brothers at Camp Hill. After sending messages and letters, I found the resting place of Robert Hill Rodgers and many of his family in Arkansas. Fortunately, I found this info in time for it to be included in L. McCardle's book on the 54 infantry reg., Co. H. Can't wait to see the book. Thanks. CBD

Drury Goins
Are you sure the marriage to Sarah T. Diffley wasn't Drury Jr.? I thought Drury Sr died in 1876 and his second wife outlived him....? BTW, I'm working on a Statham family history.

Didn't mean to eliminate her nickname. She was Penelope on all other records, but I should have added Penny as nickname. Sorry. Barbara Tynes Claiborne
