Some folks don't want newspaper clips in their memorials -- even if they're 100 years old. I wonder if the Beethoven estate is still collecting royalties... Well, for any reason -- whenever an image I've posted is not wanted, don't hesitate at all to ask me to take it down. There is no ego involved. I simply enjoy adding to the record. And I enjoy the image style in newspapers that the ancestor might have recognized. I make no claims of accuracy, although I certainly try to be accurate. In other words -- I could have made a mistake! My particular interests are the Johnston, Myers, Rissler, Clipp, Hoffmaster and Bascue families in Clarke county Virginia, and Jefferson and Berkeley counties in what is now known as West Virginia. The Pair, Tunstall, Daniel, Ferguson, Mitchell, Hobbs, Tuten, Cayton and Newsome families of Greensville and Brunswick counties in Virginia and Beaufort and Craven counties in North Carolina. Also, manmade and natural disasters of the 19th and early 20th centuries and, of course, anyone who fought for the South! Favorite vintage newspapers: The Clarke County Courier of Clarke county, The Spirit of Jefferson of Jefferson county, and The Independent Messenger of Emporia. |
Any images not cropped properly -- let me know. I can now fix them. Lighten up. Have fun!

Hello James, I was able to fulfill most of your photo requests at Green Hill, but had to pass on three of them. None of them are listed in the cemetery spreadsheet, so I have no idea where to look. If you come across any further info on their burial location, let me know. I'll keep my eyes open for them as well - I'm out there quite a bit. Dick Belle

Thank you so much for taking the time to send additional information for his memorial. Sharing information is so important so we may be as accurate as possible. I appreciate your work, and so will future generations! Thank you again.....By the way, the newspaper article you placed on his memorial has Bushrod Washington mentioned below his name in a separate article and he is a distant cousin! So I received two important messages from you! Have a wonderful day.....

So you don't have to go searching for her. As I said, the stone is at Berryville, there is no doubt. So she must have been moved or the obit was mistaken. Good eye, though :-)
