I have been researching my family for 25+ years and Find A Grave has allowed me to further my own research and also help others. Photographs that I have posted on Find A Grave are my own. If you wish to publish one of my copyrighted images, please contact me. |
Please DO NOT download and re-post my photos as your own -- especially on Ancestry.com. Search for the Find A Grave record and link to the cemetery record that way. This allows anyone who comes across your tree to verify the source of the photo and the cemetery information. That also keeps you from violating Ancestry's policy regarding photos.

|Sandra Lennox||Alexander G. Nye|
I went to Vine Hills Cemetery today to inquire
about Alexander G. Nye. I checked the family
burial area for a ground marker, evidence of
a gravestone that maybe once was, etc. I also
checked the large granite family marker, not
one name is inscribed on it! I also checked the
back of the gravestones that are there, some-
times the back and front have inscriptions.
I went into the cemetery dept. which is at
Vine Hills and asked if they had a Alexander
G. Nye in their list of burials. They pulled
out the card for the lot that his wife is
buried in and said he is not buried there, but
he is the owner of the lot!
Jan, you said that you have the obituary, does
it give a cemetery name for burial?
|Sandra Lennox||Alexander G. Nye|
I did not see a gravestone for Alexander G. Nye
in the family burial plot. I also checked the
"Cemetery Burial Record Search" for Plymouth
and he was not listed in any of the Plymouth
cemeteries. I will go back to Vine Hills and
check the plot out again. There is a large
granite memorial which if I remember correctly
does not have any inscriptions on it, maybe
his name was to be inscribed? The cemetery
office is there at Vine Hills, I will go in
and inquire about Alexander.
The information I have on Alexander:
Died October 6, 1901 in Weymouth, his
residence was also in Weymouth. Burial
was in Plymouth.

You might want to check these two memorials
out. They both have the same parents and two
different birth dates, same death dates. Middle letter D and other I Your # 85778500 the other memorial # 55834217. I would like to have my tree
with the right spelling and B. date.
