Bio and Links
Bio Photo This poem explains it best. :)

We are the campfire storytellers of the tribe.
We have been called, as if it were, by our genes, They call out to us! Tell our story! And so we do. In finding our heritage, we somehow find ourselves. It goes beyond documenting the facts. It goes to pride in our ancestors, what they accomplished in their lifetime. It goes to respecting their hardships and losses The deep pride they fought to preserve us a great nation, so we do, with great pride, scribe the facts of their lives. It is up to us, the ones who answer the call to tell the story, and preserve our family Genealogy! We are the chosen!

At this point, I am gathering my family, memorializing and honoring each one to the best of my ability. I also have extensive research submitted on Ancestry.com. Loberg, Dahlberg, Johnson, Diedrich, Thompsen, Fager and Blomberg.

I am eager to help anyone with research, cemetery information, photos etc. I'm pretty good at it! ;) Please don't hesitate to contact me. Scandinavians are my specialty!

I cannot transfer the memorials to you, or add the information or merge the memorials. You already own them and only you can work with them. Since you have one of them with his full middle name, I suggest you keep that one and just delete the other. I am going to the cemetery next week to check for new tombstones. I will go over the lot and make sure that I didn't miss an old foundation or a fallen stone with any sort of name on it, but I am highly doubtful that there is anything there. I have photographed every stone in that cemetery, and another person also did. If we both missed it, it isn't there. But I will check.

I grew up in the house within the cemetery, and it was my only playground as a child. My grandfather and then my grandmother were the caretakers.

Thanks for sponsoring her memorial. You may not be aware but Findagrave.com became part of the Ancestry.com family last fall.

I am actually in Madelia and was just up north for the week. I have traveled by this small cemetery and decided to put it online. I do this kind of thing at home because it's one thing I can do with small children and genealogy has been a huge part of my life. I am trying to save an abandon cemetery if you have any advice, it's been a three year uphill climb and I believe everything has been done, to no avail.

That is how I found find a grave and the many people all over the united states who are looking for long lost relatives or don't even know some of the ones that I have stone pictures for existed. There should be a picture taking for Find a Grave club so we can share stories of those long lost and sometimes forgotten people. I'm gald there's those who care, like us, even though unrelated. Peace to you!

This note was so touching and the reason I do what I do. May I put it on her memorial?

I have a lot more pictures for this cemetery and others, just need the time to put them on the site. Hopefully somebody else will appreciate it as you do!

Let's all remember those who came before us. Their lives had meaning, they weren't for nothing.

What else can I say?

RE: Grace
Yes, that is the big question. If there are other headstones. I put additional information on O. Harold's memorial. His first name is actually Oscar. And he died of Whooping Cough. Fred had given me a lot of information several years ago and I had not completed the project until you came into my life and got me going again. I have slowly been finding all of the kids and putting them on Find A Grave. I even found a Robert Tate who died about a year ago. He was the son of Etta Hembre Tate so I put him on Find A Grave. I also found Leah Johnson buried in Fort Snelling along with her husband. Thanks and have fun in the snow. Linda

RE: Grace
I had contacted Fred a few years ago regarding this family and this is what he had e-mailed me.
Grace Hembre Downing is buried in A-55#1
Also Myrtle Hembre is buried in A-55 #2. She was the wife of Harry Hembre. I have put her on Find A Grave. Don't know why Harry is not buried there.
There is another Grave. Grave #3 which had been assigned to Anna Heller. Check and see if there is a head stone on that one. They are all in the same lot as John O. Hembre.
By the way, the little guys name was actually Oscar Harold Hembre. Do you want me to do a photo request for some of these folks? Linda

RE: Grace
I don't know if she is there or not. I had put her in Find A Grave in 2011 but I think I just added the cemetery when you mentioned a "Grace" there.

She was divorced and her last name would be Downing.

Should I call the cemetery Monday to find out if she is even there? Linda

RE: Hembre Family Plot
Thank you for all your work. I have put Harold on Find A Grave and his memorial # is 121065102. I would like to have Grace also. I have a Grace already on Find A Grave with a Birth date of 1905 and a death date of 1996 so I am not sure it is the Grace that you have seen. If the dates don't match up, take it anyway and I will see if I can research this out and see if I can find another Grace. Again thank you. Linda
