Find a Grave reminder
Please do not post news article clippings or obituary scans in the photo section of memorials. This is against Find a Grave policy, detailed in the FAQs. Only photos of the person's grave headstone and grave site, plus a portrait photo of the person if available (personal photos that you own only), should be posted in the photo section.

Re: photo section
No, it's not a copyright issue (the section 107 copyright disclaimer does not apply, anyway. Please do not post that as your bio), it's a Find a Grave policy/rules issue. Only photos of the person's grave headstone and grave site, plus a portrait photo of the person if available (personal photos that you own only), should be posted in the photo section.

Thomas A. Sandes, Double Branches Baptist Church, Lincoln County, Georgia
I am a member of Double Branches Baptist Church and
researching all the graves and markers at our church. There is no marker with the name Thomas A. Sandes 1900-1973. You also had one listed as Sarah H. Sanders 1907-1987 which is not at our church also. We have a marker as Thomas A. Ashmore, 1900-1973 with his wife, Sarah H. Ashmore 1907-1987. Both of these graves were listed incorrectly in "Lincoln County Cemeteries" by Betty Sue Dunaway Bunch and Larry Raymond Butler which I think is where you got all your information. The Ashmore markers are pictured on "Find-A-Grave". Please delete these memorials because there are no such graves at my church. Thanks.

RE: John Swann
Hi. Good to hear from you too. I got onto his family yesterday & found a bit. I noticed you didn't list his surviving relatives in your synopsis of his obit. Evidently no one from his family has become interested in genealogy yet. Thanks for the quick change.

McCracker memorial
Thanks for the good cooperation. Now if I can only get the person to move her memorial to the correct church cemetery.
My father was a 4th Div WWII Marine. Blessings and thanks for your service.
BTW: my late son lived in Canton. We lived in Asheville, Robbinsville, Hayesville and now boone and will be at Lake Junaluska in June for my retirement celebration.
Saw you had many memorials in that area, so assume you are there.

RE: Eunice Smith Sherbert
Thank you so much for getting back to me about Eunice.Yes, I do know where George Washington Sherbert is buried. He was my husband grandfather. His memorial page is so wrong I believe. See according to Eunice he ran off to Woodruff with a younger girl leaving Eunice during the height of the depression to raise their 4 children. His children, and of course, Eunice is not even mention on his memorial page. I can find no evidence that he divorced Eunice and remarried. Eunice and George were married on Feb. 4, 1917. So the wife that is listed on his death certificate was either his girlfriend or maybe his second wife. Either way Euince should be mention as his first wife (she put in for Social Security for her younger children) and his children should all be mention. I have struggled with bring this matter to the attention of his grave finder, but I also believe in the truth. His full name is George Washington Sherbert and he is buried at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Greer. His is the son of Ervin Green Sherbert and Carra J. Sherbert. He had two half sisters: Mary Sue Sherbert Emory 1918-2010 and Lizzy Lou Sherbert Babb 1918-1995 (yes, they were twins). His girlfriend is buried a few feet away from him. Her name was Maybelle Goode and she has lots of family buried there. I had a direct conversation with Eunice and she said they were never divorced. I've been struggling to bring this to your attention but the truth is important. Do you have any marriage documents between Maybelle Goode and George or divorce documents between George and Eunice? Thanks BJS
