Bio and Links
Bio Photo I began doing family genealogy over 30 years ago. After I retired from the military, I became very interested in the Civil War. I had visited many civil war cemeteries, and the many unknown soldiers buried in them. Every soldier who died in war for his country should be known and honored. And the families of the soldier should be able to know where he is buried, this has been my goal to provide that information to those who are searching for a soldier.

I spend a great deal of my time traveling to battlefields and cemeteries, and researching information on a soldier or person. If at anytime I can be of help or if you need more information please contact me. Or if you have more information on a soldier. If a correction needs to be made "PLEASE" contact me. Don't write an other "BIO" in the Flowers and Notes section of the Memorial. Leave a message or email me anytime.

I will tranfer memorials if it is a request made by a relative of a soldier. If you are not related please do not ask. If you have information in regards to a soldiers memorial I will be more then happy to add it.

"The Bivouac of The Dead"

The muffled drums sad roll's all beat
the soldier's last tatoo,
No more on life's parade shall meet
The brave and fallen few.

The neighing troop, the flashing blade,
The bugles stirring blast,
The charge,the dreadful cannonade,
The din and shout are past.

Rest on embalmed and sainted dead,
Dear as the blood ye gave,
No impious footstep here shall thread.
The herbage of your grave,

On fame's enternal camping ground,
Their silent tents are spread,
And glory guards with solemn round,
The bivouac of the dead.

No vision of the morrow's strife
The warrior's dream alarms,
No braying horn nor screaming fife
At dawn shall call to arms,

No rumor of the foe's advance
Now sweeps upon the wind,
No troubled thought at midnight haunts
Of love ones left behind,

Your own proud land's heroic soil
must be your fitter grave;
She claims from war his richest spoil,
The ashes of the brave.

-Theodore O'Hara-

Note: In making correction to memorials, I will make corrections, Birth dates, Death dates, Marriage dates add a spouse or children, if they have memorials, I will not add long Bio's, I just don't have the time. If you have a Bio I will be more then happy to transfer a memorial to you to add a bio, when finished just transfer it back. I spent a great deal of time traveling to battlefields and cemeteries which takes up a lot of my time, I would be greatful for any help you can give me in regards to memorials.

A Family Who Loves Genealogy
Hello my new friend!
Would you be so kind as to check the records on this gentleman.

In this record attached to the memorial enlarge and check for me if you would be so kind.

I thought he was single and that a parent had applied for the pension.

Thanks for helping me!

I found the Form 12 requesting back pay from his father who stated he had no children or wife.

Thanks for helping me out on this one!

A Family Who Loves Genealogy
Cheery Hello Ted
He was buried in Rockland Cemetery. I found information on ancestry.com as well backing up that info.

I have added him to Rockland Cemetery with the documentation showing burial there.

Would you mind if I copied and pasted your information to his memorial that I have input there? Thanks a bunch.

Do hope this finds you doing well my good new friend on findagrave!

Hiram J Everet
Thank you for creating a memorial for Hiram J Everet, and thank you for transferring him to family, we appreciate it. As we were wondering what happened to him after his death at Stones River, now he can be connected to the rest of the family.
Sincerely,
Sherry Duty

Richmond National Cemetery
Hi Ted,

Just an FYI. I'm photographing Richmond National Cemetery, and I added photos to a few of your memorials. I wasn't sure if they were family or not, and maybe you'd want to know.

I added two photos for J. C. Ulrich today. I feel they are both the same person because the dates on one photo agree with your dates, and the 176th PA Inf on the second photo agree with your bio. Let me know if you think I should add the PA Inf stone as a separate person. Thank you. Gail

I added photo of his gravestone and a close up showing his service record. Feel free to rearrange the photos so the memorials are first and the gravestone last. Gail

Asher COok
Dear Ted:

I was getting some Evans plot photos and took a couple of Asher Cook because he was GAR and I feel every veteran should be noted. However, I took them earlier this year and for some reason I had named his Asher Cook Evans, and also had an EVANS monument and GAR star connected to Asherís name. I have this feeling that his inscription was on the back of the Evans monument. Would there be any connection? Iíd like to post the GAR star and the full monument, but didnít want to until I checked with you. Next time I am at Centermoreland, I will certainly do a double check unless I hear from you with any ideas. Thanks so much.
