I first discovered Find A Grave around 2001 by accident when I was trying to find the cemetery where Louisa May Alcott is buried, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’ve been a graveyard explorer since I was little and used to spend a lot of time at a graveyard near where we live. I have also been a huge history buff most of my life, I blame my Mom, and would love to one day work in a historical field.

Transfers

I had decided before I signed up that I would do out of guideline transfers. This idea was cemented after receiving out of guideline transfers from so many generous people. The only memorials that I’m sticky about are memorials for family and people I have known.

Edits

I really like Find A Grave’s new way of sending edits to people, it makes things simpler. My only issue with it is that you don’t get an email when you get sent an edit. So, if you send me an edit this way and want it made quickly, or it’s been a while, then leave me a message so I will get an email notice. Things sometimes come up, and I’m unable to come on here for a while, and I don’t know that I have edits.

Pictures

You are free to use my pictures; I just ask that you don’t use them on Ancestry. I don’t care for Ancestry’s picture policy, and don’t like that you have to pay to see your own pictures. I would like my pictures to be free for anyone to see.

A Family Mystery

One family mystery that we have is that of my 3rd great-grandma’s nephew, Cash Sutton. The only picture we have of him says on the back that he disappeared in 1926 and was never heard from again. I have tried looking for him many times and have only found two census records he was in. If anyone knows anything more please leave me a message or send me an edit for his memorial. Link
