I am taking a leave of absence from Find a grave for awhile. I'll keep up with my edits, but corrections will just have to wait..
Thank you all for your prayers, friendship and care. It is appreciated.

The life of a person is more than the dash between two dates. It is my hope that the memorials which I create or manage can make the individuals life fuller, even if just linking to family members or adding a few tidbits of information. Researching and including other family information makes them more than graves, they are people. Suggestions are welcome but please submit them using the edit button at the upper right corner of each memorial.
Even when transcribing cemeteries I work hard to link other family members.
I live in the northwestern mountains of North Carolina and have work primarily in cemeteries there. My current focus is Carolina Memorial Park in Concord, North Carolina. There are 28,000 graves but only about 15,500+ listed. I've done more than 4,000 of those. Much of my family is buried there.

My family can be traced back 46 generations to County Leichester, England. The family is English/Norman. They came to England with William after the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The photo above is my ancestor, Sir Nicholas Purefoy, buried in The Church of St. Michael and all Angels in Fenny Drayton, Co. Leicestershire, England. The spelling of my name is the most rare of the three family groups: Purefoy, Purifoy and Peurifoy. The early Purefoys were in Jamestown, VA long before the Hugonaut movement.
On my paternal side I am interested in the Peurifoy, Purifoy, Purefoy, Scott and Suther families.
For my maternal side are Statons, Stiller's,and Moores (from Stanly Co, NC).
My wife is from the Byrd and Carr families of Duplin County, NC.
You are invited to visit the memorials of my grandmother Lillian Scott Peurifoy, my mother
Hazel Staton Peurifoy
and Father Robert Eugene Peurifoy.

Photos of graves are free to use. However, personal photos of individuals are copyrighted by this writer and can only be used on other sites by written request via email (not "public messages on my personal page) and acknowledgement of original owner of the photograph.

Thanks to all who help with my typo, mistakes and incorrect links. I could not accomplish this without your help.

RE: Veteran grave
Not sure Robert. I don't remember who I sent a correction for I am sorry. If you tell me who I can see if I can retrace my steps. Thank you for your help, Vonna

RE: Salisbury Annex
Thank you, I just found out about 2 of them last night and asked him to remove them. I'm no longer in the Salisbury area either, I'm in Surry Co. So unless they are brought to my attention I probably won't be looking for them. Mine have headstone photos, so I know they are in the correct cemetery.

RE: Location
An example was what she contacted me about was a name on a marker, such as Elizabeth Susan C. Smith. I entered Susan in middle name and C. in maiden name. She told me that it was against the Find A Grave guidelines and I should have entered
Susan C. in middle name together and left maiden name blank. I searched the guidelines and found no such thing. She is just one of those who feels that everyone should set up their memorials the same as she does. Like I said, I just shrugged her off and left my memorial the way I had it.

RE: Daniel Combs
Yes, I've run into folks whose name was different or became different at birth or afterwards. Even had one who had a birth first name, then married license showed it was a different first name, and when she died it was yet different again.

I came across your question about middle name nitpicking from a contributor who's name starts with "A". I have as well. She says it is in the guidelines that if you have an initial, it most be placed in the middle name field. I found no such guideline, so I decline her. I took her as being a self-appointed Find A Grave police officer and shrugged her off :-)

RE: Sink memorials
Thank you. I would be honored to manage my grandparents memorials. Thank you for all that you have done to put them in find-a-grave initially.

Hello Mr. Peurifoy,

I had looked before for Ms. Xiong's (102379688)
marker in Mtn View Memorial Park for you. Each time i return I look for her again. ( Still have not found her) I was looking at her memorial page and noticed that many in her family had passed away during that same year. Her mother the day before her own death. Then i seen where her brother and his wife died within 6 months. I am very curious to what happened to this lovely family. Please feel free to email me, or find me on Facebook.. I think you are friends with my dad on Fb... Take care and I look forward to hearing from you..

L C "Red" Fowler
Robert, I was able to add some information to this memorial. All this information is taken from L C's death certificate from the Fowler family. Could you connect his parents and wife for me. His father was Wade Hampton Fowler, mother Sarah Ann Baucom, wife Hazel (Roberts) Fowler. Thanks for your dedication. Enjoyed reading your profile.
