I and others ran into a "brick wall" in research on my g-g-grandfather, Andrew Bonapart Griffin, who was orphaned at an early age --some say taken in by a Rev. Motley (sp?). He was b. 23 Nov 1800 in Sandersville, Washington Co., GA, married Susannah Tate Fortson of Elbert Co., GA, and was later an Ala State Senator. He died 11 Nov 1895 in Opelika, Lee Co., AL. Any help with his parents or ancestors would be greatly appreciated.
I was born in Roanoke AL, went to Auburn Univ, and was then a career Air Force pilot. My wife, Betty, and I are retired in wonderful Auburn, Lee County, Alabama. WAR EAGLE!
