|Bio and Links|
I am a retired History teacher. I am working on connecting & linking the Metcalf descendants of the three Metcalf brothers who settled in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee in the 1790's. My grandparents & great grandparents & great great grandparents are buried in Madison County along with many Uncles & Aunts & Cousins. As you know many families were large in the 1800's. The same is true with the Metcalfs & Corns & Lisenbees which lived in Madison County in the 1800's.|

|Cindee Gaines||Robert Gaines|
Hi Mr Metcalf. My name is Cindee Gaines. Im sorry this note is so late...I just saw the article u posted...but I just wanted to Thank You for the article on my Uncle Robert Gaines's page. He is one of the mysteries in my family history. I have never been able to find a birth/death certificate on him or much info at all. I knew he was killed in WW2 and was born around 1920. He and my father had lived in an orphange in the 1930's in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Lots of mysteries/sadness in that family history. But thank you so much for posting it...it is greatly appreciated. =)
|Nana x4||Hoy Clarence Metcalf|
Hi... Just a question about Hoy Clarence "Jack" Metcalf # 106901690. He is linked to parents William and Bertha. I found an obit for this Hoy Clarence and it listed parents as Gaither and Pansy Ramsey Metcalf. I know that William and Bertha had a son named Clarence but could this be the wrong one? Bertha was my 2nd great Aunt.

I photographed George Campbell's gravestone today but I cannot upload it to his memorial because it already has 5 photos. FG limits un-sponsored memorial pages to a max of 5 photos.

Hi Mr. Metcalf - I see you have a photo request for a headstone located in Beech Cemetery in Buncombe County. Do you happen to know where this cemetery is?

|Lori Hager||Rass Shelton|
When attempting to fulfill a photo request for Rass Shelton I found he is actually buried at Piney Mountain Private Cemetery. A memorial page was created for him at that cemetery in 2009 (Find A Grave Memorial # 41451168) so it appears your page is a duplicate.
Piney Mountain Private Cemetery is across the road from Piney Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery and behind the church.
Hello William, I have added and connected Betty Elizabeth Metcalf Shelton to your memorial of Gabriel Metcalf. Please take a look and give your thoughts on her people Connected.
Thanks, Dwight Crowe
In your bio of Gabriel Metcalf, you have;
5. Elizabeth b. 1838 d. 3/8/1872 md. Noah Shelton. He was killed in the Civil War in Knox County KY. Children (a) Elbert (b) Nelson (c) Viola md. Bud Wallen.
Viola was the daughter of Elizabeth Metcalf Shelton but she was born after Noah Shelton died in the War, Viola married Bud WALDEN, not WALLEN.
Bud and Viola Walden are my great-grandparents. I have more information on them if you would like to have it.
Thanks, email; firstname.lastname@example.org
