Bio Photo My name is Debby, I have been researching my family since 1983. I researched over 10,000 of my ancestors, but have hit a few brick walls along the way. Please check out my home page, I have not updated it for a few year, but it has a lot of research on it.
I am currently concentrating on my Sheldon and Case lines from Vermont and New Hampshire. My family is mostly from the New England area and immigrated from Europe. My mom's side is all French~Canadian.
I am so excited to have found Find A Grave, I love going to cemeteries! I have been collecting cemetery information for so many years, I am so glad to have a place to put it now, so that it may help others as well as be a lasting memory to those who may have been forgotten.
I am a special occasion seamstress and own my dressmaking business called: Sew Special Designs.

The Simsbury Cemetery....
Hi Debra...
My name is Nathan Adams and I am a brother to Chester and Curtis Adams who are buried in that cemetery. I have just provided a photo of my brother Chester that I took in 1994. I was raised at the farm you can see from the cemetery, and it is still in the Adams name.
But, there is another farm on that road and it is the Ojanen farm originally, as it is now owned by someone new. There are three Ojanen's buried in the cemetery, and I noticed they are not listed in the listing of internments. Can I have this corrected?
I now live in Florida, and I do not come back north very often. Any help with this, will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks much....Nathan

Have looked through all of my great-aunt's notes on Chester families, and unfortunately, did not find anything that might help you. So sorry... I know that solving the puzzle is part of the fun of genealogy, but it is nice - once in a while - to find pieces that fit together! Good luck! Jo W.

That is what I anticipated... the guy I found did not match at all with your data. Will keep my eyes open for relevant information! Jo W.

I have an old book on Springfield, VT,(published in 1895) that says that Charles F. Sheldon was son of William & Bedy Ann (Tolles) Sheldon, b. in Wethersfield, VT, 7 Jan 1843.... He married 2 Jane 1866, Jane Elizabeth Henry of Perkinsville, daughter of Hyren and Caroline (Parker) Henry, b, 1 Dec.1844. There is no mention of Civil War service. Are you sure you have the right man/family? Jo W.

Who were you looking for in the Simonsville cemetery? My great-aunt left a great deal of genealogy information on local families, and perhaps I would be able to help you. Just before you turn up the road to the cemetery there is a small red house - that used to be the schoolhouse my grandmother went to. The big white house near there is where she went for piano lessons. It's neat to discover someone else who knows the area! Jo W.

RE: Henry Slate photo
My dad was from NH. We used to visit when we were kids. Can't remember going to Londonderry. Would really love to do that but both my wife's health and mine wouldn't allow it now. I can smell the pine just thinking about it.

The "king" got me started on Find-A-Grave. Lately I've been pretty focused on my mom's relatives. Never took an interest in her side of the family, but figured if I don't, no one will. Most of my relatives on her side have died or moved away, so it's up to me to see they don't get forgotten.

Take care! If you need anything in the Finger Lakes let me know. I might be able to help or know someone who could. It's worth a try. Have done most of the PRs at Bath National the past two years. I'm thinking I want to experiment with putting a live hyperlink in a message. This tool might be helpful to you for searching for veterans: VA National Gravesite Locator. You can put it on your "My Favorites" if this works. If not, I'll figure another way to get it to you.

You are welcome.

Your picture looks familiar. I'm thinking I saw you on a message post to my distant cousin "kingoflondonderry."

Small world. One of the PR's was for a William Cate, an old New England name, and in my bloodline.

Have a great day!

RE: Newport, NH
Yes, I am in Newport. I plan on returning to the Maple Street Cemetery to finish documenting the 2nd half before moving on to other cemeteries in the area. I will definately keep an eye out for the names you're looking for. If you do make it up to the area, would love to have a "graving buddy" to go around with.
