I'm a graduate of Leopold High School where my father served as Supt. of Schools and the consolidation of the Public School system in the 1950's. He went on to become the Bollinger Co. Supt. of Schools. I went on to graduate from the University of Missouri with dual degress in Business Education and English. |
Having grown up in Leopold, I know many of the grandparents, parents and children who reside in the local area much less the cemetery. As of 2006, I have posted with photos the majority of residents in St. John's Cemetery and have worked hard to find information about each person and hopefully linked them to their relatives.
I also have relatives in St. Francois, Washington, Franklin, Cape Girardeau, and Crawford counties. I try to post information I come across to those boards on findagrave or rootsweb etc.
Hopefully, many families will be blessed in the future by life history preserved for them.

Mary: Thank you for checking into the names I had sent you. And yes I agree there are some "strange" people who get involved with find-a-grave. Once a person "yelled" at me via the computer and I cried. I've learned to ignore those. But I've met so many wonderful people doing this. Personally, I love "edits" and want to get the records correct - guess it's the teacher in me. One person accused me of wanting "credit" and that is very far from the truth. Credit for what? Caring about others and wanting to help them? Oh well - we must not get discouraged. Keep up the good work. Ruth Smith
