|Carole Lee Alexander||Ivan Alexander|
I am the lead volunteer for the R1a1 Alexanders at alexanderdna.org. A decendant of Ivan has recently taken the yDNA test which shows he is a R1a1 Alexander. There are two groups of Alexanders R1a1 and R1b1. The two groups are not related. Do you know who the father is of Ivan? Hope to hear from you. Carole Lee Alexander

thanks so much, Renee
|Bettye Sue||Finding both Alexander Farm Cemeteries|
Go to Findagrave and click on find a cemetery, except do NOT click on the name of the cemetery, instead just click on USA, then TENN, then Henry County and you will see the listing for the two cemeteries separated by an Alexander Cemetery. One of them has a request for photos, perhaps by you, for Ivan and spouse. The person who looked for the cemetery must have gone to an incorrect area, because the request was in January 2009 and I visited and took my photos in either May or JUne of 2009. Then was no gun club. The stones are fairly close to the road but a little below the level of the road and the farm field which caused difficulty in seeing the one stone. Eleanor fails to have a grave stone. I have failed to return to the area but it is illegal to move any of the old graves which are on private land in Tennessee. One of my cousins who has a cemetery on his property told me that there must be public access. Someone has now added his cemetery (not Arnns) to findagrave.
It would be best if you eliminate the one with the photo requests because the information is misleading.
Have you checked with John Alexander who is aware of other Alexanders in the area?
I found Matthew's younger brother William and his wife Ester Esther McMillan (sister of Matthew's wife Eleanor)in 1830 and 1840 in Henry County TN per census. The dates I have for their death I found in a tree at ancestry but it only listed one child James born about 1785 and the 1830 census there are several males and females living with Esther and William.
I hope this helps.
I appreciate your efforts. Let me know if I can help your children's line of Alexanders.
Charlotte, Please delete the two photos of mine at Matthew Alexander's burial site. I don't use my full name because of identity theft. After all they are the photos which I took in 2009 and posted to ancestry.com. I appreciate if you would remove them completely and then I can add them with my name.
|Bettye Sue||Alexander's transfer|
Thanks Charlotte for the transfers. Remember to delete the 2nd Memorial for Matthew which only has directions. There is a "delete" near the top of the memorial after you go to the memorial. Hope that helps.
If you ever want information from John for your children let me know. He is my age so we never know about our seemingly good health. Really nice guy.

Charlotte, I would appreciate if you would transfer both of the grave sites you posted on findagrave as I am a direct descendant those in which you used my photos with your name. One time you said you would transfer theme to me. I asked John Alexander to contact you as he had information which might help you with your line. If you will email me your email then I will convey it to him or I will give you his email via a private message. He worked with someone some years ago who like you failed to descend from Matthew. He may be able to help you.
Bettye descendant of Matthew and DAR member listed as descendant of Matthew Alexander through his son Hugh.
|Jeff Blakley||Josina Agnew Haff|
According to a GEDCOM file uploaded by Robert M. Haff to the LDS, Josina Agnew Haff died on 25 Jan 1931. In addition, the photograph attached to your record shows a death year of 1931.
|Bonnie Ward Williamson||Photo of Sarah Nickens' Headstone|
Hello, there was a photo request made by Alexis Pappas for the headstone of Sarah Nickens in Mulkey Grove Cemetery, Perry County, Illinois. I added a photo I discovered I had from back in 2007. It's not great, but I noticed you managed the memorial and thought you might enjoy knowing it had been added.
|Bettye Sue||Matthew & Eleanor Alexander|
It is very nice of you to list information about my ancestors. It would be nicer if the information were correct and if you listed the photo of Matthew's gravestone which I took in 2009. I have a photo with me in it and the grass and background etc are the same.
Also, the children listed are incorrect per Probate and Military Pension Records. I have emailed you directly for a correction.
Unfortunately, I failed to post Matthew because I failed to realize that a grave in farm land could be posted.
I do appreciate your efforts; however, I recommend my prospective DAR members to use findagrave as a guide, but not a source. In correct information can be harmful for a true researcher.
I gladly help anyone with their research.
I await your reply.
Hi Charlotte, I found your memorials and I added you to my friends list, if that is OK with you. Rosemary
