Researching my ancestors and family in Cumberland and Perry Counties, PA. |
Please feel free to copy the gravestone pictures I put out there for your genealogy. I put them out there for you.
Also, if it's your family and not on my own tree, I would love to transfer the memorial to you.

I am not sure about this transfer. Did I request it? If I did, please remind me if I forgot. I was just adding pics to memorials at Prospect Hill, thanks, Sheila
|Janice Peay||Hannah Zimmerman Coverly|
Thank you so much for the unexpected transfer of Hannah Zimmerman Coverly. I'll take good care of her memorial :-)
|Barry Michie||Abraham & Mary Ann Shaddow Miller Memorials|
Thanks so much for the unexpected transfer of management of the Memorials for Abraham Porter Miller and his wife, Mary Ann Shaddow in Paxtang Cemetery. Will work a little bit more on them. They'll be in good hands.
And thanks for your work establishing the and getting the marker photos up.
PS: Are you at all related to the Shattos and allied families in Perry County? I keep tripping over your name on such memorials.
|I Am But 1||Your Unknown Memorials|
I found one of your Unknown memorials (Mervin Earl) and sent you edits for him. I think if you dig a little bit on familysearch.org you will find most of your Unknown people:)
|Peggy Bargen Duey||Thank You|
Hi Judy, It's been a long time since I've corresponded with you. Thank you for the transfer; I greatly appreciate it. My husband and I are flying back to Cumberland County this Tuesday for 2 weeks and I'm so excited. Been trying to get things in order so I can get a lot of research done, but know it all won't get done. Happy 4th of July!!!

A friend told me about this change a couple days after this was deployed. I have sent an edit/s to you so I thought maybe you didn't know about it. You might want to pass it on to your friends. thanks!!! ~Peggy
New "Automated" system for "Suggest a Correction/Submit an Edit"
New System for Memorial Edits deployed by FindAGrave on 12/5/2013
Go to your Contributor/Profile page.
Look in the upper right corner. You should now see a tab called "Edits" - check there to see if any have been submitted to you.
Then just review and accept.
Way easier for doing updates to names/dates/places/plot numbers/links. If you don't approve within 21 days it will automatically accept it.
You still will get e-mails to add info to bio section.
BTW, my husband and I are flying back to PA and my husband, 2 friends and I will be taking pictures of all the plaques in the Old Mausoleum; therefore, if you want to request any, the photo requests will be fulfilled first.

Thanks so much for this transfer. I made the links to her parents. I have been working on other family lines but maybe this will bring me back to Sheibleys.
I hope all is well with you.

Thank you for the transfer!
Please do not chalk headstones. This is from our FAQ:
Unless you are related to the interred on the headstone in question, DO NOT do anything to the headstone.
Gravestones should never be cleaned with anything but water and a soft brush. Slate gravestones from the Revolutionary era and Pre-revolutionary era are best left alone due to their delicate nature and tendency to erode.
Never apply bleach, ammonia, shaving cream, chalk, flour, baking soda, cornstarch, firm pressure or use anything abrasive. Do not post photos of recently chalked or shaving-creamed headstones.
Consult a professional before any attempt to clean a headstone is made.
