Researching and documenting my family history and that of my husband's for 35 years. Family surnames: Snyder / Enright / Duffy / Mackie / Philipps / Callaghan / Conneally / McLaughlin /Quinn / Nolan / Fischli / Tobin / Normile.|
I am recording our local Maplewood Cemetery, but it's taking time, as you can imagine. My son recorded Weeks' Cemetery for his Eagle project here in our town also.
Glad for edits, corrections, additional info.
You may use my photos without asking permission. No problem at all. Have a blessed day!
Ode to Maplewood Cemetery
By Emily C.A. Snyder, 2014:
There’s a stone by my front porch
Shaded by the maple bough
That asks one simple question:
Not who or when – but “Howe?”
Who lies beneath this marker?
When did he pass away?
Was this a him or her—
Or a family of “they?”
What was the man’s profession?
If only someone knew--?
But that is now a “Howe,”
And here’s no hint of “Who.”
What joys, perchance, were hers
That she savoured in her Then,
But How will neither speak of Whom
Much less to answer: “When.”
And whom did this Howe love?
Did she accept his solemn vow?
What wars disturbed their slumber,
As their name disturbs me now?
Stranger graves than this
Have laid their secrets bare
Disclosing who and when—
And better yet still!—Where.
“Why” is often hid from me
Although I sometimes guess
And whisper my conjecture
Over those who’ve gone to rest.
But I am restless, I am restless,
I can’t unknit my brow:
As I look out to the Maplewood
And wonder: “Howe, Howe, Howe!”
So here’s what I will do
(And they can’t stop me anyhow!):
I shall say that they were happy
And it doesn’t matter Howe.

The mother of Cornelia Amelot was 167113242 :)

Excellent! Ok so the thing is on Ancestry.com I see 7 family trees that all have this family line goofed up all the way through and it really bugs me! So I put the whole Amelot line on Find a Grave. I have been very careful to only post information about family members and dates based on Church records that I have myself seen. Thank you for your help :)

I am under the impression that this is a listing you created! What is it I am missing?!

Hi, I have added the father of Cornelia Amelote 1831–1891 to find a grave. I thought if you were to attach Hippolyte Flavien Amelote to her name as her father on Find A Grave it might help folks sort things out. I have based the information on baptism records in St Ours Quebec. As yet I have not found his date of death. Thank you,

That would be great, thank you.
I wonder which cemetery Emily and her children were actually buried in.
You can feel the hardships some of these families endured when reading their vital records...losing children, husbands losing wives to childbirth problems. A lot of issues we don't blink an eye at today with our modern medical help.
Thank you again. Gail

This is uncanny. I took photographs of headstones at Harvard Center Cemetery in Harvard, MA. on Monday, July 11, 2016. Today I created some memorials from some of those photos.
Emily Lucy (Whitney) Hussey aka Lucy Emily
Mary Ella Hussey aka "Minnie"
I searched their father and found he was buried in Maplewood Cem. What a nice surprise to find his entire family also included in that cemetery just one and two days ago. Timing is everything, if I had created my memorials on Monday I would not have found them.
Thank you. Gail

Sorry, I tried but unfortunately not all the years of the Norwalk Hour are accessable. The year 1941 goes from 1/1/1941-1/18/1941 an there is nothing until 7/2/1941.
I also checked the Sunday Herald and again there is no access to January 1941 dates.
If he is buried in Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk, Conn, they have the obits on the back of there burial cards.
|genealogygeek||RE: John Conneally Obit 1923|
If I run across it, I will send it to you. I did find his full name: Luke Aloysius Conneally born 5/10/1875. Just in case you didn't have that information, it came from a WWI registration that he filled out in Norwalk, Conn living on 5 Maple Street, Norwalk, Conn dated 9/12/1918.
I'll keep my eyes open for the other.

I've been researching through the Norwalk Hour (Norwalk, Conn). I found so many of these obits to included maiden names and history, those are the ones that I'm posting.
Hopefully, this will help further your research and I'm glad I helped!

Thanks for the photos, such a great enhancement to the memorial pages. I am thrilled to know that Amos Niles, my ggg-grandfather's, gravesite has been found, thanks to you. I have changed his memorial to reflect his whereabouts.
A thousand thank yous.
