Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana, and joined the Air Force at an early age. After two careers (USAF and U.S. Capitol Police), two marriages (death and divorce) and wonderful children AND grandchildren, I completely retired and relocated to North Carolina. I enjoy searching the past..., for myself and others.

I also enjoy being a contributor to this excellent website. When visiting cemeteries for my own purposes or upon request, I will usually photograph and add several other graves from that visit. I feel that they too have a story to tell and will hopefully be found by a loved one. If my entries prove incorrect or incomplete, or you would prefer to replace with your own data, please let me know. I am always willing to make a change for the improvement of a memorial. I will also consider reasonable requests for transfer. Please use the EDIT tab on the applicable memorial(s). PLEASE DO NOT PLACE A DEATH RECORD ON THE MEMORIALS THAT I MANAGE. If you feel that something pertinent is on the record that I have overlooked in the bio, send me an EDIT request.

I do not display a list of Find A Grave Friends..., there are far too many. Rest assured, if you have helped me or I have helped you, then you ARE My Friend.

ADDENDUM: Photographs I have taken at burial locations may be used by others for any legitimate purpose (excluding reposting on other findagrave memorials). Hopefully, I would be given credit for the work. However, personal photographs I have placed on memorials that I created, maintain or posted otherwise, unless specified in that content, remain in my control and are considered copyrighted materials.

But I do hope that you will enjoy viewing the personal photographs I have posted, especially those of my deceased wife COLLEEN, my DAD, MOTHER and our extended family, including the Mother and Father of my second wife and her extended family.

Thank you Dave for sending information for his memorial. I appreciate it very much. I'm in North Carolina quite a bit as my daughter and family moved there about 17 years ago. Love it there!

I just noticed that the obit had spelled his sister's last name wrong. It is Faires, not Farris. Could you change that? thank you.

I am emailing you after I sent you an obit on him. I realize that I typed the wrong birth year. It was 1880, not 1890. thank you.

You have the wrong maiden name. She married William Dotson Oxford Jr. on 15 Oct 1893 at Little twp., Caldwell Co., North Carolina. You are correct, I found no children either. Her parents were Sidney M. and Eliza Whitener.

Jackie Rogers, family genealogist
By the way, how did the Dotson name come into the family. My ex husband was a Dotson from Ohio origin. William Dotson Oxford Jr. is the husband of Amanda May Jane Reid, whom mother was Mary Isabel Sherrill (1855-1928), my grand aunt of husband of grand aunt.

RE: Fred Richard Paisley
Thanks for the reply. I think I'll have some luck over time with a few other research options. A few years ago, I caught an ad in the local newspaper regarding a man who passed away and the VA was trying to find any member of his family. Evidently, the home he was in didn't have any one at all on record. However, I did find them for them. I had little to go on with that search, too. It may seem silly to some but I like to "return" pictures and original docs I find in frames; for some that may be the only tangible memorabilia they have for a family member. Again, thanks for replying. Keep up the GREAT work! Your posts are wonderful.

Are you a member of the Paisley Family?

I've purchased an antique photo for the frame at an antique store in Forest City, NC. On the back mat of this baby's picture is some information but not enough for me to pinpoint a city. The photo's photographer's mat reads Smiths, Dayton, Ohio. I don't know if that means the pic was taken in Ohio or processed there and mailed off as there is a partial address on the back. The photo is in pristine condition and I'd like very much to send it to the proper Paisley family member. If you are a member of this family, I'll be happy to email you the info and email the pic for verification.
