Please visit my new website, Peninsula Genealogy, if you have ties to the Hampton Roads area. I'm documenting obituaries, marriage, birth and death records there, and linking all obits back to findagrave so people can see additional info on their loved ones.|
I have been doing my genealogy for over 13 years now. I started visiting the local cemeteries in my area looking for my relatives. By doing that, I realized how much I like to go there and how I enjoy helping others find their relatives. I am willing to do cemetery lookups in my area (Hampton, VA), so email me if need some help. Will also look up obituaries at our local library. I just love to do research!
I am currently transcribing and posting pics of cemeteries around Hampton VA. I have completed most of the smaller cemeteries (less than 1000 graves) and a few larger ones. I'm hoping by doing all this, it will make it easier for many people to find their loved ones.
My maternal grandfathers family was from MA (Mackay, Martin, McGlew, Traill)
My maternal grandmothers family was from VA, NC and PA (Gildner, Broadstreet, May, Bridgland, Smith, Arnold).

My paternal grandmothers family was from CA, Washington, DC and OH. (Ehrmantraut, White, Gerhold, Dolph).
My husbands family is from NC and SC. (Orr, Malone, Boone, Clement, Mckay, Stewart, Vaughan Garrett, Hatchell).

I went to Lawhorne Cemetery and it is 44168419 but like you when I put the number in to Find A Grave it comes up some one else. My request has already been completed.
I was wondering if the Warren McNamara grave you have is the same Warren McNamara that was a lawyer to Robert McKinney who was featured on Unsolved Mysteries? I'm trying to update the UM Website so I was just wondering if that is the correct Warren MCNamara then do You have Robert McKinney's grave? Much Appreciated

Dawn, curious as to exactly where John Hartage found and photographed the Lancaster Cemetery in Vanceboro Craven Co NC that you have a couple memorials in. I recently found a Lancaster Cemetery in Vanceboro at the corner of Maul Swamp Road and SR43 with the other 3 burials that are listed with your 2 but your 2 are not among the ones that I found. Must be 2 Lancaster Cemeteries in Vanceboro. In the interest of accuracy I would like to create another one, add my new photos and put all 5 where they belong. Hope you will be able to help me out in this. Doug
|Roberts Girl||Alice Smith #45704389|
I'm hoping you can help me with information on Alice Smith. I put in a photo request for her grave marker, but was told it could not be found. Do you remember if this memorial was added from a visit to the cemetery or from cemetery transcripts? I'd love to be able to discover the exact location of her grave.
I believe this may be Alice, daughter of Ezra M. and Martha Johnson Smith. According to family, our Alice was born Feb. 3, 1861 in Jasper County, Iowa, and died Sept. 26, 1863 most likely also in Jasper County, as that is where census records place her parents. In the 1860 census, they were living with Daniel, Elizabeth and Steven Johnson assumed to be family to Martha. I'd love to confirm this is our Alice Smith. I'd also love to uncover more information on Ezra and Martha. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

|D Rausch||Ore's at Mountain view cemetery, WY|
I see that you are working on Orr's. Are you related to the Ore's at Mountain View cemetery, Riverton, Fremont, WY?
I looked at your Orr's and I couldn't see a connection between the two. The Ore's above are originally from Missouri, went to Neb and onto WY.
If you do not have a connection would it be possible to transfer them to me. They are not directly related but are in my family and it would be easier to add info if I didn't have to go through someone.
Thanks for any help.

|Soon And Very Soon||James Arnold Branch obituary|
You posted that you had a copy of James Arnold Branch's obituary. If so, I'd love to see a copy. :)
I never met Mr. Branch; but his wife Juanita later married my half-brother. Together they had three children, the oldest of whom died during infancy from pneumonia in 1975. They would later divorce and she married a third time to Charles Johnson (also of North Carolina); but all three of them have passed away now (Juanita as of two years ago). Her oldest daughter Linda posts an occasional floral tribute, but hasn't been that active on Find A Grave. I am not sure of her contact information.
|SleepingDog||Henry Hansford Roane|
I've just sent in an edit for this man's name because it is listed that way in his son's obituary and in some of the census records----but not in all of the census records.
So it is confusing if his name was supposed to be Henry Hansford or Hansford Henry Roane.
I'm going to be connecting them to their son, Bernard O. Roane, in whose obit the father is listed as Henry Hansford Roane.
