A Texan's family tree is like a beautiful rose with many fragrant petals, but with any rose, you have thorny branches that needs pruning on occasion....the same goes with families.
Beatitudes of the Family Genealogists:
Blessed are the great grandmothers, who hoarded newspaper clippings and old letters, For they tell the story of their time. Blessed are all the grandfathers who filed every legal document, For this provides proof. Blessed are the grandmothers who preserved family Bibles and diaries, For this our heritage. Blessed are fathers who elect officials that answer letters of inquiry, For some, this is their only link to the past. Blessed are mothers who relate family traditions and legends to the family, For one of her children will surely remember. Blessed are the relatives who fill in family sheets with extra data, For them who owe the family history. Blessed is any family whose members strive for the preservation of records, For theirs is a labour of love. Blessed are the children who will never say, "Grandma, you have told that old story twice today."written by Unknown;

Looking for the names of his parents. He must be descended from James Davis and Abigail Haney Davis, she is buried at Chalk Mountain cemetery, oldest recorded burial at that cemetery. Joann Pierce

I helps a great deal, thanks. The Wright lines have been worked up by my grandfather and I have the information in storage. He wanted to make sure that his descendants had the information in case they wanted it. That is why I am keeping it safe per his wishes.

Nancy, I was wondering if in your research you have ever ran across a H. R. or "Hut" White? He is my brick wall that I have been trying to find for umpteen years.

I am a Texan too-born in Abilene, Taylor County, Texas-with family all over Texas-some of my family arrived in Texas in 1821 from Missouri.

I've added his parents' names. When you find their memorials, let me know and I'll link them.

I have found an article of her death, and the only way to save it is in a photo. The Laurel Chronicle, Jan. 21, 1910. Would you like for me to post it or send it to you?

|Donna Harkins Fred||RE: Hi, I am kin to the Louie Forest Scales family|
Hi Nancy...I not only am kin to the Witherspoon line, but Louie Scales was my grandmother Eula Scales Harkins' brother. That said, I don't know about Mary G. Witherspoon. I am sorry. But my daughter may have info on her since she is on Ancestry.com. If I find out from her, will let you know. I guess you have checked my Witherspoon family graves I sponsor and have found nothing.
Hope you have success in your endeavor!
