RE: Johannsen?
Good Morning,
The name of Wolf is a new one for me,but another lead.
Did you have a name for His Mother and perhaps the place of birth?
That would give you a lead as to maybe a census location and names in the 1930s.
All I can tell you for sure of what I know is that Uncle Al(Albert) and Aunt Vannie(Maria/Marie) had a business at Lanagan, Missouri. I think it was a liquor store and a gift shop. My brother spent a week with them once that I know of.
In the 1910 census Mattie Gootee with children Stella, John, Vannie, and Vernie lived at Gally Rock (Galla Rock) in Yell Co.Ark. At that time John Gootee lived at Centerville I think, with children from a previous marriage to Matilda Crabtree. When Mattie died, John married his step daughter, Stella, and they had two children. My Dad was the baby and John died in 1913. Not sure exactly when but Vannie and Vernie ran away and changed names to Gotee. Uncle Vernie is buried at Klamath Falls, Oregon. It's kinda a mixed up story that I really don't want to post here.
For me, I was born in Oklahoma, I'm 67yrs old, and live in Oregon, have for almost 48 yrs.
The photo I have of your Dad, he was on a pony. On the back it says, "This isn't very good but he wanted you to have it" and it was to Aunt Nancy. That was my Mother.

Sincerely,
Herb Gootee

Johannsen?
Mrs Ganies,
I'm sorry if I came across as an idiot to you.
That may be true but I mean no harm.
I apoligize and understand. I sent a message to your Mother and Brother I assume as their e-mail were posted.
You replied and I thank you for that. With the info posted at Find A Grave I have been able to add a few leaves to the tree.
There is a remote possibility that you Father may have been a blood relative to his Mother. That did happen within that Family a few times.
Research seems to have the Gootee line coming from France in the mid 1600s as Gautier.

Thank You again,
Herb Gootee

RE: Johannsen ?
Hello Mrs Gaines,
I had never heard her called Maria. Her name was Marie Elizabeth Gootee. She and her Brother, Vernie changed the spelling to Gotee when they were young and ran away from home. I should say, that was the Family story. My Dad was their half brother.
Albert and Marie (Vannie) were my Uncle and Aunt. That's all I ever knew them by. She was the daughter of John Gootee and Mattie (Dempsey) Cain, born in Yell Co.,Arkansas. I never saw them again after my Mother's death in 1957. I never met Darrel but I have a pic of him as a young boy.
Could you contact at my e-mail.

Thank You

Hello,

Your parents- The Reed
Hi I'm Susan Bentz- it's my husband family side- In the book of Peter Cusick I only have your mother name, just her birth date and married Wilbur Wayne Reed- that's all I have. I have look her up so many times but I didn't know where she buried at or where did they lived at. If your both parents died- you need to make their memorial pages and then add to their parent's number links on.
Welcome to the Findagrave! It's fun. If you have a problem or let me know- I will help you any way I can.
