Lewis and I have been married 54 years and have three wonderful children and six amazing grandchildren. I retired in 2015, after 30 years as the executive assistant to four CEOs at the local hospital.

When my mother-in-law died in 2003, her three children and spouses sorted through the things she treasured. Every time we came to an old picture, the others would place it in a box and say, "Give that one to Cathy. She'll make us a book." And I did! It was a labor of love, and I'm now hooked on genealogy.

When I Googled my maternal grandmother and found a picture of her headstone at Beaver Baptist Church Cemetery, I became addicted to Find A Grave. I feel like I'm preserving history, especially when I can add obituaries, pictures and family links.
