Secretary, 487th Bomb Group Association
I am researching the 487th Bomb Group, 8th U.S. Army Air Force, which was stationed at Army Air Forces Station 137, near the village of Lavenham, Suffolk, England during World War II. One of my uncles served in this Group in 1944. I am working with other members of the 487th Bomb Group Association to honor all veterans of the Group who were killed during the war.

You are welcome. I was on vacation on Oahu and, as I'm known to do, had to check out the local cemeteries. That one is a truly beautiful place, located in an old volcanic carter.

Find A Grave Memorial# 83372645
Hi Paul - I thank you for adding the photo for my uncle Ed on this memorial - it is beautiful. Can you tell me about how you came across this photo? Was it in a military archive somewhere?
Thanks for your work!
More than glad to add a bio. Thanks!

Hi again. When I posted the photo of the actual marker, I remembered that I had a photo request. The first photo is of the location you gave me but there was no marker there.
This Summer, I photographed every marker in Union Cemetery. I didn't note the plot locations as I worked very fast to get all the markers shot. Sorry. But I do know the marker was NOT in the location shown in the memorial.

Hello Paul...No, I do not know Don Olsen. He would be a distant cousin of mine of course. You can share my email address with him if you'd like. It is email@example.com. You can tell him that my great-great grandfather is John Griese. John had a sister named Anna Griese (Fiene)#107891281,who Don should be familiar with. She is August Olsen's grandmother, if I've done my research correctly. Okay, I better wrap this up. Thank you again for your contact. Best regards, Dawn Biehl, Spokane, Wa. (also on Facebook)

Hello...I just wanted to drop a line and say thank you for your management/creation of the memorials for the 487th Bomb Group. August Olsen (#56350344) is my third cousin and I have been doing some research on the Olsen/Fiene/Griese line of my family and trying to fill in the blanks. Currently working on August's siblings' memorials. Many thanks for all your work in honoring their lives and service to our country.
