RE: Willis Gill
I understand, but the other one has the photos associated with it. I did not take the photos. I am just trying to clean up the site.

RE: James Hatcher photo
Thank you I will definitely do that. I wrote an article on my blog about the entire story and tried my best to clear up common misconceptions on the story if you would like to read it. I also plan to add Octavia and James' story to my upcoming book about various stories in history.--

Jacob Hatcher
I am writing about the true story of Octavia Hatcher and I found a discrepancy in the memorial for little Jacob. The statue of the baby is on his grave and has always been there. It was never attached to Octavia's grave. In fact, the 1892 Daily Review in Decatur, Illinois (Sept 28) issue mentions the monument having come from there, being specifically designed in Octavia's likeness from a photograph of her. Her right hand (the hand that is now broken off) held a parasol and had an immense ring on it.--- Just thought you would like to know so you can fix the information on the memorial. Thanks.

F. J. Moess / Mace
Moess, F J 81763270 Frederick (several spellings) Jonathan
His name in German was probably M, o with the two dots over the o, and ∫∫ which could be ss or bb or ff
He was my great grandfather. MACE is what he used in the Civil War so that his name would be pronounced correctly.
His first wife was Moess, Mary B 13404196 she was a widow and had a son by her first husband; F.J. and she had a son Louis (her marker reads MAESS) My great grandmother was his 2nd wife: Moess, Mary Louisa Fuller 81762916 Their children were Charlie Moess, M. Margareth Moess, LaDora Glass Moess Camp, and Treebie C. Moess. The Camp family (Dora and Robert, my mom, her sister and their husbands) have markers in the new section of Minden City Cemetery; All the others are in the old section of the cemetery. Alicia

RE: Byland/Ryland
Great that we got that straight. Don't forget to change the Ryland back to Byland.

Mock Cemetery
Have located the Mock Plantation Cemetery. It's on Tommy Lane land. Only see one headstone the wife of Benjamin Jr. His is broken up and the other two headstone are in pieces. The land owner let's his cattle stump over the grave marker there no law in Ala. against this. Have some picture of what's left of the cemetery. Dec 30 2014

Are we related?
Hi Scout,
Many of my relatives here were added by you. Thus, I was just wondering if perhaps we are related? Josef Colvin (Find A Grave Memorial# 101093562) is my great-grandfather. Anyway, just wondering.
