Bio and Links
Bio Photo 2010, I am in the process of gathering the soldiers of the Civil War 85th ILLinois Infantry Regiment into virtual cemeteries.

Please email me if you know the resting place of any soldier I have not yet found.

Origins of Companies
A,C,D,K---Mason Co.
B---Fulton and Mason Co.
E---Menard Co.
F---Tazewell and Woodford Co.
G---Fulton and Schuyler Co.
H,I---Fulton Co.

September 2013. I have started a virtual cemetery for Mason County IL WWI Veterans.

2012 Virtual Cemetery for victims of the Chatsworth Train Wreck in my list virtual cemeteries.

I generally try to add whatever additional bio I can find when I enter a memorial, military or otherwise. I use , marriage and census records, and other similiar types of search sites.

Please contact me if I enter incorrect info or links.

I enjoy taking and posting photos.

Cemetery walking involves planning, time, gas, bees, flies, gnats, ticks, assorted other bugs, dogs, burrs, briars, weeds, tall grass, snakes, scrapes, cuts, mud, dirt, snow, rain, dust, wind, sun, rutted roads, hills and dales, getting lost, and BUCKETS of sweat.

I had to throw my lunch to a couple wild peacocks headed my way. Seems they have a fondness for egg salad.

I appreciate those folks who list their source when posting my photos to :)

Please take a look at this little guy's memorial .
I came across his interesting grave while randomly taking pictures in Springdale Cemetery.

Richard Ashcraft memorial
Yes, I've noticed more "mixed-up" emails, also...I have to now check my spam to be sure no messages got there from Findagrave, etc. I think it was misleading when I said "more info" only that I'm sending additional email than was on the memorial. Thanks for your help and quick response. winnie

Wade & Fayette Powell
Dear Debra,
Thanks for your note. I'd forgotten about the boys until you mentioned them, then went back and was able to determine that little Fayette Powell was born Jul 10, 1871, which is interesting as it is the same month and day as my grandfather, Harry Hoyt Taylor, who was born on Jul 10, 1895 and lived until March of 1975. His and my grandmother's 100th wedding anniversary was on Jul 12th, 2014! How interesting the way things work out..... I'm always glad to be of help.

RE: Henry Sewell
I apparently submitted that by mistake and have deleted the request. I had it written down in my notes but it was associated with another individual. Please accept my apologies.

Thank you for posting the headstone of Jacob Shook. He would be my 2nd great grand uncle. Now, if I could only find his brother Allen, my 2nd great grandfather.....
I read that you are ok with using the photos as long as you are credited...I've done both! Thank you.

RE: Arminda Dyke
I am still working on making all of the connections. So far, the 1880 Federal Census shows that Thomas T., Arminda and Amzoetter resided together. Thomas is is listed as single, head of household. Arminda is listed as his mother and Amzoetter is listed as his sister.

As far as connecting this household to William H., I used the information I found on Findagrave. I have also been studying the City Directories. Early on it appears that William and Thomas lived at the same residence and worked together. Later on either Arminda or Amzoetter are listed at the same address. At some point one of William's 4 daughter's may have resided at Thomas' residence.

Arminda Dyke
Dear Debra,
Thank you for posting photographs associated with the names and grave sites. Regarding Arminda Dyke it appears that her son, William is next to her. Do you happen to know the names of the adjacent headstones?
Best Regards,

Hello Debra

Thanks for the recent transfer to me. )(Mrs. Blaylock). I have already added a wealth of information. She is the only one I am interested in as I am not kin to her husband, and they married late in life, so they did not have any children together.
