I thought you might want to re-arrange the pictures on the page since I added your great picture of the Confederate Monument at Cedar Hill, cemetery, Suffolk, VA, which Thomas had erected in 1889.
If you would transfer him to me I could add much more now that I am researching his family. His father's Somerton Inn, where General La'Fayette visited and lunched February 1825, is still standing and in the Somerton Historic District as one of the oldest buildings. His wife's grandfather was chairman of committe in Murfreesboro, N C who welcomed La'fayette there. and have copies of the James Shrpless portraits done of the Godwin & Borland ffamilies in 1809, furnished me by Chrysler Art Museum of Norfolk.

I'm sorry Janet, but this is the wrong B.F. Stringfellow. The stone belongs to a younger man. The Benjamin Franklin Stringfellow that the stone refers to is the Civil War spy, but the photo is that of an older man (yes, born in Virginia) born in 1816, but he traveled to Missouri and Kansas, where he became a border ruffian, Attorney General, and he made an impact on the Santa Fe Railroad as well. There is only one or two photos of the first Benjamin Franklin. The book "Stringfellow of the Fourth" is a rare find, but it is still out there. You should redo the Find a Grave as these are two different men. | | | Beverly Lail

A while back, you gave me permission to use the photo you took of Charles Johnson's Grave, (in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery), in my family tree in ancestry.com.
