Hi Des, saw you have made a small error a photo. At the headstone of Richard Kelner Williams (Reichswald War Cemetery) you have added the photo of FH Williams Grenadier Guards 5th March 1945. I am sure this in not your intention. Kr Paul

John Ferminger grave
Hi Des,
I've just discovered this website and found the photo of my great uncle's gravestone. I want to thank you for that. It's so wonderful to finally have something of him. He died without marrying so has no heirs to think of him. Now I can leave virtual flowers for him, thanks to you :-)
Regards, Helen

Re: Robert Shearing
Thank you so much for the photo of Robert's grave. It is loely to see where he lies.

He was my paternal grand uncle and had a twin brother who grieved for him for the rest of his life - only dying in 1997 at the age of 82 years.

Lesley STYLES 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards 2622686
Dear Mr.Philippet,
Thank you for submitting the photo of my great uncle Lesley's grave stone. Please, if you have time, could you tell me where I can get information on the circumstances that led to his death. We continued to receive Christmas cards from the grenadier Guards up until a few years.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Jill Lelong

Photo Grave Pfc Michael B. Penney
I'd like to thank you for adding the photo of my mother's brother, Pfc Michael B. Penney, who was massacred behind the Du Moulin in Ligneuville, Belgium on December 17, 1944.

My maternal grandparents and mother (Michael's parents and sister) were never able to visit his grave in person, which is something I hope I may be able to do some day.

I remember well Michael's photo in his uniform on top of the bookcase in the living room in my grandparents home when growing up. I still have his photo proudly displayed in my living room till this day.

I have added a photo of Pfc. Michael B. Penney, and one of his mother and sister taken the same year of his death. I have also added a picture of the memorial in Ligneuville, Belgium. I thought you might like to have a face so if ever you should pass by his grave again, you will know how he looked.

I appreciate your contribution to this site, enabling many remaining family members of these lost soldiers to be remembered by their family members.

Many blessings for your wonderful work,
