Quote from family genealogist:|
"The English usually spelled it Pelham and it was pronounced with a silent h. Phonetically it can be
spelled many ways. There were also some German and Dutch Pellems [also dePelhams]. Thus I check Pehlem, Pelam, Pelham, Peim, Pelim, Pellam, Pellham, Pellem, Pellim, Pellom, Pellum,Pelum, even Pillom, Pelhem. However I've resisted the Pu- versious such as Pullum, Pulliam, etc.
Sometimes the enumerator misspelled the name thru hurry or neglect or he may even have been drunk.Recall in the early period he traveled thru sometimes hostile country on horseback and in poorweather. So he probably resorted to a bit of rum or grog."
Almost all of my pages in the Calhoun County, AL, area would not exist or would be highly incomplete without Fallen Graver Mary Ann Baggett Ferguson (#47014323).

Whatever works best for you. J.B. Byrd is not directly related to me. He was the nephew of my 4x great-grandmother. I have been working on his family (the Byrds) while I was researching her.

If you are related to John, Hello Cousin. John is my 1 cousin 4 x removed. I was wondering about the doc you show with the dates of birth and death. Could you email me the doc? Thanks Marian

Thanks. Everything I have - CW records, death certificate, census' - all say just New. Strange name, I know.
Are you kin to him? This is an uncle. His brother, Carnes Thomas is my 2nd great grandfather. I love meeting new relatives!!
|Keitha Jenkins Kirk||New Jersey Smith|
Hello, I have received your request to change his name to Newton. However, in all my research I have never ran across anything that would indicate his name was Newton. Before I do anything, may I ask what you have that indicates his name is Newton? Thanks.
Keitha Jenkins Kirk
|Shawn Riley||Eola Andrews|
Thank you very much for the clarification on Eola's middle/nick name, "Clee". That would explain why her headstone shows Eola C. Andrews. I thought maybe it was just a mistake. The memorial has been updated.
Also I wanted to thank you for sponsoring her memorial. If you're interested in managing the memorial, I'll be happy to transfer it to you.
for the pic of William Brownings headstone.

I would like to copy the paperwork you have shown on this posting and related family. I am discovering a very distant relationship through Henry Clay. My use of your info would be non-profit and only for my family tree. Please advise. Thank you for the work you do preserving information on long ago family. JoAnn
