After 10 years of being part of Find A Grave, I've had to make some changes about what I do or not do as the site has grown so large. I am now keeping to Find A Grave's policy. Please see the "Help with Find A Grave" link on the left side of the page under Actions. This includes their policies on transfers, additions of Obits, and other pertinent info.

I will gladly transfer ownership of any memorial to a relative that falls within Find A Grave's guidelines - that is: sibling, parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, child, grandchild, great-grandchild.

PLEASE NOTE: At the top of every memorial in the right hand corner is an EDIT tab. Please use this tab to request additions, changes or transfers.

Find A Grave has over 100 million memorials and many names are duplicates. It takes time to find the correct memorial. Memos, notes, or requests left on my Member Page do not give me the appropriate information to make these changes.

Sorry this is so long but to answer frequently asked questions....

I am happy to add information from obituaries however, unless you are directly related to the person in the memorial, I will not add any information to a memorial that pertains to a living or possibly living individual in order to protect their privacy. This includes information from obituaries! This is keeping with FAG's policy.

Thanks so much for understanding,
Sharon J.

RE: Guild Family headstone photos in Leona Cem
You are welcome. I try my best to make the stones readable.

Eli Henthorn
Gatts Cemetery, Marshall County, WV
Just wanted to let you know that the picture you have on there for Hannah Doty Gatts is actually the stone for their daughter, Hannah E. Gatts, who died young. You can find a picture of Hannah Doty Gatts at this site:

The land on which the cemetery is located is going to become a landfill. That is why this report was done. Thanks!

RE: Ella Marble LeRoy updates
Looks like Ella was still alive when Merritt died on April 30, 1942. Merritt died in Florence, Lauderdale Co, Alabama. He is listed as being married, not widowed. Her name is misspelled Flla Merritt (Source: Alabama Death & Burial Index, 1881-1974)
In the 1940 Census they are both alive and living in Florence as well. No hits under LeRoy but found them under Le Roy.
Fred Ross has her in his tree as being Ella Grace (Marble) LeRoy and her birthdate is 20 Dec 1867 in WI and she died 6 Mar 1957 in Los Angeles, CA.

Matilda Guild
I neglected to fully read your notes next to the request and did not take a picture of the small stone with "mother" on it but I did read the stone. Besides the word mother the name Matilda Guild is on the back. There are no dates and as you look at the grave picture on Matilda's memorial, you will note a small stone to the back and right of it. That is the small stone in question. To the left and hidden by the grave in the photo is the one for Joel Guild.

Abraham Gore dates in Question
Hi Sharon, I'm not sure which date is correct born July 31, 1822 or March 31, 1822. I'm on the road and will not be home until the middle of Dec so will see what I have in my records. Thanks for catching my Typo. Happy Digging, Patsy

RE: Darius Brown photo
You are welcome. I live close to that cemetery so it is easy for me to get there. Did you notice the dates and how they differ from the memorial?

RE: Fanning
Yes Betsy's Father was David and he is buried in nearby Wetona. Ulysses's Wife was a Rockwell from Canton, PA and it looks like she may have gone back there after he died. I tried to see if there was a record for her on the other site I get local cemetery reading from and didn't see anything about her.

I took Pictures of all the Fannings in Leona. Any listed in Find a grave that I did not place a stone picture next to means I could not find a grave for that person.

Never mind! I see you requested just about all that is there!

RE: Fanning Family Photos-Leona Cemetery
I checked that other site because I did not take a picture of the other Fannings up there (there are quite a few) There is a stone for Amos B Fanning up there . You will be interested to know that there is also another Amos B Fanning up there that
was born the year after the one you are mentioning. The weather is supposed to be nice tomorrow and I can go back up there and take those pics of the other Fannings if you wish.
