Bio and Links
Bio Photo My profile pic is me literally in my mothers arms, 1965.

I live in The Denny Triangle in Seattle, WA, USA. I know it is important and vital to record accurately the historical aspects of a persons life, including their final resting place. This, my father inspired me to do as a kid, when he would take me with him to visit family graves. He would tidy them up, like,, actually cut the grass. I remember the cemetary where his father was sometimes was overgrown. I liked to clean up those graves with him and those memories are deeply a part of me. Even though I can not see the graves of anyone related to me here in Seattle, Washington, I can still participate in honoring and respecting their existence.

My X's are from NW Florida. Through FAG and ancestry.com I have been able to see the final resting places of many, many of my mom's side ancestors, going back to early 1800's. Americans of Scottish, Irish, Cherokee, Creek, English, French descent, migrating from New York and Carolinas to Georgia and Alabama, all eventually making their way to NW FL.

My Y's are from Roccabascerana, in the Province of Avellino, Campania, Italy, about 30 miles east of Naples. There is a large residence called "Case (House of) Ragucci" within Avellino. House of Ragucci. My grandparent's immigration states Roccabascerana as origin.

My Aunt, my mom's sister, who I never met, Margaret Ann Williamson, who died before I was born, but I feel a connection to her

Charlotte "Lottie" Johnson
Hi Mario:

I forgot to mention that I do have a photo of our grandfather Elijah Padgett Sr. father of William D. Padgett. He was a rather small frame French man dressed very well and has a white beard. He was dressed in top coat and hat. I'm sure he was wealthy because at that time common people could not sport a beard because of "the beard tax". My cousin from Milton, Fl told me that he escaped from the Catholics Massacre of "Bloody Sunday" in the 1700's. They attacked the Protestants. He had to pretend he was Catholic, and they allowed him to leave on a ship for S. Carolina. Sorry..I don't mean to offend anyone that is a Catholic person, at all...this is just part of my family history. I'm sure there are good people in all walks of life.

My printer played out so I have to get a new one, if you would like me to post it. I was always worried about getting to see Charlotte "Lottie" Johnson, I forgot to tell you. My cousin eluded to the fact that Elijah Padgett Sr. could have been Jewish. I have Jewish Sir names on my mother's side of the family. I was wondering if you know anything about possible "Jewish Roots"? My mom's side of the family is yours also thru the Padgett's.

Ummm..your going to think I'm a nut..but, we came from all military ancestors. Have you researched Susan Warren, the mother of Elijah Padgett Sr.? Warren is also French in origin. All of our male ancestors were in the Queen's service in England, Sir Edward Warren. It is so interesting..but, it takes alot of verification because genealogy is such a big business now. Also, discovered that GGreatgrandmom..SIS..could have been because she was a language asset to the Confederates because she spoke Cherokee; her father was also in earlier Cherokee Indian Infantry full blood Cherokees. His name was John Smith. I'm a nut...but, (Sis) and (Babe) were possible code names for protection. I know, i'm all coat and daggers...but, from a little research of SIS..stands for SussexInterpretatingServices...perhaps the Confederates utilized the Cherokee language in war time as they used the Navajo code talkers in WW2. or was it WW1? Your readers are going to get a good laugh out of my imagination...lol..

Looking forward for you seeing Elijah Padgett Sr. when I'm able to try and upload it.

Take care...don't laugh too hard.
Love and Peace

RE: Charlotte Padgett
Hi there Mario:

Sorry, to be so long with a reply. I just checked again today.

My Great Grandmother was Louisa Padgett. She also had a nick name which appears in all documents that I have discovered (Babe)..and her mother's nick name (Sis) Elizabeth Smith has me wondering also. My brother who has passed away now..use to call me Sister all of the time, perhaps it was just familiar terms of endearment. I was told by a Padgett 2nd cousin...that it was not unheard of to marry cousins back then. Her Grandfather was Robert Padgett, brother to my Grandmom. Robert Padgett was married to country singer "Hank Locklin" sister Margraet who he killed because of jealousy and he was excuted in Milton, Florida..electric chair circa early 1900's. Hank Locklin was very famous, I'm sure you recognize his name. My mother told me it was the most horrible thing that happened to her as a child. Margret had beautiful red hair. Her husband stabbed her to death on a walk in the woods of Milton, FL. Very sad. Back then they executed the guilty within a couple of weeks or shorter time span. I loss contact with my cousin who still lives in Milton, florida..if I could remember her name..she has so much Padgett history that is correct.

My mother told me that one of her grandfather's had 1 blue eye and 1 brown eye. I wonder if it was dear Grandpapa William Padgett. From your research ..it looks like he lived until he was 80 years old. My mom passed at the age oyf 81. She was very beautiful, light-yellow or golden skin tone with the blackest hair ever. But, she had amazing blue-green eyes. She told me all of our ancestors she could remember were very dark people..and the Milton cousin said we have Black Creole ..lol..i can believe that..my oldest sister was born with a reddish Afro mass of hair...which she hated. I thought it was lovely.

I am so happy to have discovered your site...I still have 2 sisters living out of my mom's 8 children and she was very happy to see the photos...she is very dark (Indian) I stay white if i stay out of the sun..funny..I think. Genetics are amazing.

Thank you for writing me the message. I will check more often now. Your kin from Texas. Thank you once again for all your hard work.

Looking forward to keeping in touch.
your cousin,
rojon padgett <3
