|PLEASE DON'T ADD A DEATH CERTIFICATE TO MY MEMORIALS. TO ME IT'S DISTASTEFUL AND DEATH CERTIFICATES HAVE PERSONAL INFORMATION LISTED ON THEM. SOME OF THE NEWER ONES HAVE SS NUMBERS LISTED. |
My name is Vickie BYRUM Schley. I have lived in the central Missouri area all my life. My husband and I are retired and have started doing some traveling. I became interested in Find A Grave when I was looking for my two sisters and my brother's grave sights. They all died as infants, in 1939 and 1941. Headstones were never placed on their graves. In 2012, Michael (my husband) and I started the task of getting headstones placed on all three graves. This year we completed this task with the help of Mom and Dad's trust fund paying for the headstones. We travled to several states. Juddie is in Roswell, New Mexico, Grace is in Morseville, a small village near Stockton, Illinois (north of Rockford, Illinois), and Judy's grave is only a few miles from where I live in Missouri. We also found my grandfathers grave in Stockton, Almon Coe Byrum. There was no headstone on his grave. This year, June 2013, we placed a headstone on his grave.
We enjoy finding old non-listed headstones and linking them to other family members already listed on Find A Grave. Some are broken and buried headstones. It is kind of like bring them back to life.

Thanks for the heads up.
|LaDon Brennan||Date and place edits|
I notice I have received several edits to approve of complete dates and/or places of birth/death. Thank you for finding the information and sending it, the memorials are much more useful with complete information. Keep them coming.
|Jan Breshears Thomas||RE: Briggs and Lue Adams|
Vickie, I would love to have the information to make sure what I have on the memorial is correct. The problem is that you posted this on my profile page without an information as to the memorial numbers. I need you to send me the information in a SAC. To do that, go to the memorial in question, click on the tab in the upper right corner of the memorial. Choose the last sub-option to tell me what the death certificates say. I don't need to see them, I'll take your word for it. If some information needs to be changed, you will notice there are other sub-options to submit those changes. By doing this, the message I receive as a result of your work will have a link to the memorial so I can go right to it. I don't accept change requests any other way. If you had read my profile page before posting there, you would have found that out already. I just don't have time to deal with this when it is not submitted correctly.
I know you were trying to help and I APPRECIATE all the help I can get, believe me. It's just so much easier in a sag. Thanks.

"Bla_gs, Margret E 29450583 b. 1858 d. 1877
I THINK THIS IS THE CORREDT NAME TO LIST. INFORMATION TAKEN FROM THE TEBO CEMETERY RECORDS.
BLACK, Margaret E. - b: Oct 1 1858 - d: Oct 16 1877 Daughter of William and Lucy BLACK"
Would you kindly leave these types of things on a "sag" and not on my member page.

Thank you for updating the memorials. No, I'm not related so a transfer isn't needed but I appreciate the offer! The only additional information on have on their birthplaces is from their marriage record - Joseph born Ashland County, Wisconsin & Anna born in Germany.

Vickie, I checked the situation and you are correct. The cemetery should be deleted. I have submitted a request to the gurus at findagrave, through the Discussion Forum, and cemetery corrections. Usually there is a very large backlog, but it appears they are really up to date. As a result, you should see this cemetery removed in the near future. Good Work!!
|Jan Breshears Thomas||RE: lindley Prairie Cemetery|
I do. Let me look into it and I'll notify someone of the problem. It will take some time to get it fixed, but in the long term it will be done. Thanks for letting me know. I don't live in Polk County anymore, so have not been looking at the cemeteries there in a long time.
