If I currently manage a memorial that belongs in your family, please ask for a transfer. Please include the memorial number and your Find A Grave member number before you send a message. I will transfer memorials, however, if the memorial is a family member of mine, I will have to decline. If you have information to add to a memorial, please use the EDIT tab and do not send a personal message or post a personal message.|
I typically manipulate the gravestone photos, that I take. I do this so that the inscription is the best it can be.
I also search various auction sites for identified period photographs and frequently, if a memorial and identity match, post them here. I also purchase many identified photographs and eventually attempt return them to their rightful owners (family). I have been given permission to post auction photographs from Ebay by a few sellers.
I am a firm believer that every person, notable or not, should be remembered. I also hope that by posting the auction photographs, a family member may be able to retrieve their ancestors image. If I actually own the individual photograph, please contact me if you are a family member.
Please note. If there is a photo attached to a memorial that I placed there, please read the photo description BEFORE contacting me for more information. If you open the photo completely, you will see in the description of everything that I know about the photograph and where I found it. I rarely manipulate any of the auction photographs. What you see is the same exact thing I found, but sometimes in order to see the face, an image needs to be lightened or darkened.
I don't upload photographs found to make people angry. If YOU have a problem with a photograph posted, and I do make mistakes, simply message me that you would like the photograph removed. I really don't wish to spend the time with your issues. See my profile comments by Brian McCullough , if you don't understand.
I also began a Pinterest board for photographs with identification, something as a thank you to the sellers who are in possession of these photographs. The auction links are intact and can be "jumped" to right from Pinterest. Have a look. The link is my "home page."

Thank you so much for posting the picture of Wyman Hoyt - he is my great, great grandfather. I am not familiar how the Find A Grave site works and just what you mean by Transferring the site. I am willing to help in anyway I can.

you're very welcome :D

I want to thank you for posting those pictures on Find A Grave. The couple didn't have any children but Henry was my 3rd great uncle. He very much favors his father, Thomas Ellsworth, in appearance and I can also see a resemblance to his brother, Horace Parmalee Ellsworth. I really appreciate your sharing those photos.

Thank You, Norman for taking and posting these fantastic photos of the Hodge family's tombstones. You did a great job!
Thank You for the additional information and family links, too!

Yes you did respond...he died long before his family did. It was certainly worth my time to check to see if he was there. Have a great day!

Thanks, Norman, for that idea. Is there anything you want me to add to his memorial now?

:-) You are very welcome. Had I not lived near there and visited his grave, I probably would have thought it might have been different people, too. I am only diligent in that 1) I love trying to solve puzzles that drive me nuts; 2) Most Importantly: The best - correct - information helps everyone.
I really admire your wonderful efforts to preserve memories by finding photos on eBay. Some buy them because they are "old/collectible" but you do it because it's someone's family. That is priceless.
Hope to cross paths again and feel free to contact me if you want me to help dig up info on anyone...
Hi, I just wanted you to know that the Ebay seller still had the photo of Samuel Leiper. He reposted it and I was able to purchase it. Thanks, Dixie
