SCORE! You caught that!

Just added to Lillian Jarvies memorial:

The Jarvies are buried directly behind her maternal grandfather's monument. Her mother was Mary Charlotte Skinner Gray, her parents being James Butler Skinner (1824 1872) and Charlotte Warren Leonard (1830 1905). Lillian's father, Albert Carlton Gray, is buried in this cemetery also. Likely in the Skinner family plot, as the stones all match stylistically. But the place of repose for her mother is yet unknown.

SOURCE- Marion Culver Leonard family tree.

Thanks to member #47102556 who suggested the relationship.

Good sleuthing!

It's a big stone, but not theirs! "Lillian Gray Jarvie is buried on the west side of the James B Skinner monument. Lillian's grave is on the left in this image."

RE: Robert Riddle Jarvie
Thanks for the request! Sometimes it takes a bit of focus to see what came before us. I am glad I could learn about Robert Jarvie and his wife. Jim

RE: Robert Riddle Jarvie

Thank you for your kind words. I was surprised to find his parents are buried in Minneapolis, about 6 miles from my house. I will photograph their grave stones soon and add them.

I did not know about the article in 1976 Antiques; the library has a file copy that I can scan. A surprisingly early article- especially in that magazine- for an arts and crafts artisan. I appreciate your bringing it to my attention.

Are you familiar with the Edna S. Purcell house in Minneapolis? Jarvie did the light fixtures for it.

Jarvie also made items designed by George Grant Elmsie. I have a reprint of a Jarvie catalogue that has some of those pieces pictured. I need to do a bit more research on that and add it to both findagrave memorials.

No, I'm not related. That's a great photo of the window though - nice work! Sherry
