Bio and Links
Bio Photo I will be happy to transfer relatives into your care - just send me an edit to do so.

So there is no confusion, please suggest your corrections through the Edit tab on the memorial, not on my profile page.

Please... if you have changes or additions to a memorial that I created, biographical information or an obituary, please do not leave the information in the flower/token section of the memorial. Instead, please use the Edit tab and send the information to me to include.
-----------
PLEASE.......when you find your relative's page, leave flowers and at least a short note. In that note, state your relationship to that person. This is a great way to find living members of your family. If you leave nothing, no one knows you are out there. Leaving this lets them know that you are also kin to them and they will contact you. This is a win, win situation.

The Story Tellers...We are the Chosen.

My feelings are in each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. To me, doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes.
Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story. So, we do.

In finding them, we somehow find ourselves. How many graves have I stood before now and cried? I have lost count. How many times have I told the ancestors you have a wonderful family - you would be proud of us?

How many times have I walked up to a grave and felt somehow there was love there for me? I cannot say.

It goes beyond just documenting facts. It goes to who am I and why do I do the things I do. It goes to seeing a cemetery about to be lost forever to weeds and indifference and saying I can't let this happen. The bones here are bones of my bone and flesh of my flesh. It goes to doing something about it. It goes to pride in what our ancestors were able to accomplish. How they contributed to what we are today. It goes to respecting their hardships and losses, their never giving in or giving up, their resoluteness to go on and build a life for their family.

It goes to deep pride that they fought to make and keep us a Nation. It goes to a deep and immense understanding that they were doing it for us. That we might be born who we are. That we might remember them. So we do. With love and caring and scribing each fact of their existence, because we are them and they are us.

The dates on either this baby or the father is wrong. You have the baby's birth 2 years after fathers death. Thought you might want to look into this issue. Thanks in advance.

RE: Alvarine Hoyle
Hi, Judy. I noticed that Alvarine Hoyle, memorial #55802978, is linked to George S. Hoyle (memorial #73326696) as her father. This is incorrect. Her father would have been Samuel R. Hoyle (memorial #154907002). Thank you in advance for correcting this! :)

APOLOGIES
The sun was terribly bright last week when I took these photographs. So sorry for the brightness. I plan on returning at a later date because I've got others to photograph there. Perhaps later on I may be able to replace these.

Lillian E Paul #17303251
Judy, Reminiscing from my childhood and recalled Granny talking to/about Lil Paul and for the life of me cannot remember how she was connected to the family. I see you created her memorial, do you have a clue? She may have just been a friend from the community....
