MY HEARTFELT THANKS TO:

BEANIE & JUNE who helped with the research and the thousands of hours we all have spent looking and developing this site not only for us but for others. Their input for the Auburn cemeteries has been transferred for me to maintain. Records will continue to be added. Any information, links, pictures, etc. are very welcome for all to share.

On being a contributor
Could you please explain briefly why you do contributions to Find a Grave.... and why New Auburn is a special place?

I thank you for what you have done.. you have given a much rewarded joy even though in a sad way to help those whom can not travel in dire times... right now its a neighbor whom knew not of the site an d has been wanting to see her grandmother again but can not afford to travel to her site.. working on her family now.

Her grandmother is IDA LEE IRONS ROY Memorial# 67504738... as long as I can help those whom are computer illiterate... there will always be a need for me. I call it "The chain of Love for those whom gone before us."

Again Thank You, Nora Mae Smith

Dear Glenda, Thank you for this memorial. Mel was my uncle. You linked the memorials for his family, all of which I created.

I read your introductory remarks, and it seems to mean you would prefer to keep the memorials rather than transfer them.

I have "gathered" a few of my direct relatives, some through transfers.

Would you mind transferring Mel's memorial to me? I just thought I would ask.

Thanks again for creating it. I really appreciate it.

Thomas Nattrass
Hello Glenda, I can't thank you enough for posting the cemetery listing for Auburn Hospital. My great grandfather's brother Thomas Nattrass is buried there. This resolves a 100+ family mystery about his final remains. He was a gold miner in Placer who came from Allendale, Northumberland, England in 1849 (the immigration and census records you posted are correct) and went west with gold fever. Even though his family made inquires at the time, no trace of him was found. It is a relief to know that he died in a hospital and not down a mine shaft. I have been searching for him for many years. Can you tell me the source material that you are working off of? Many thanks. Laurel Nattress

Bowman residents
Hi Glenda
I don't remember if I told you that I belong to the Placer County Historical Foundation and a group of us are writing a book about Bowman? I am working on the section about the residents of Bowman. Would it be alright with you if we use some of your Find A Grave photos of people from Bowman in the book? Your research has been a great help to me in finding family connections.
Thanks, Karri

Hello again!

Since her birth date is not given on the headstone at Old Auburn Cemetery, I wondered what the source of information was for her exact birth date that is listed on the page.

"Birth: Mar. 7, 1855, England
Death: Aug. 22, 1927
Placer County
California, USA"

Thank you!
