Bio Photo JERRY POSING AT THE ELLIFF FAMILY PLOT IN MCDONALD COUNTY, MISSOURI.

I always knew that I would do some kind of volunteer work upon retiring. I came upon Find A Grave while researching our (wife and I) ancestry. I have never enjoyed photography, but I truly enjoy claiming, locating, taking pictures, and posting the marker/headstone for the requestors. My biggest disappointment is finding that a gravesite does not have a marker or headstone.

I do volunteer photos, but I also enjoy taking photos of markers for the veterans interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona and posting them to the memorial that was established by another volunteer.

I served 20 years in the United States Air Force retiring as an E7 (Master Sergeant) 1961-1981.

John W George & Zilly Jane McGhee
Hi Jerry, I'm inquiring about John George & Zillah Jane "Zilly" Dalton-McGhee-George (1859-1952). You have them listed as parents to my Great-grandmother Lula Ann George-Payne-Hale. I have a copy of her death certificate and her parents are listed as William Harrison George & Lucianne Elizabeth Smith.

My Grand-Uncles, Nicholas Winton George, Elijah, Robert Lee George, & G-Aunt, Mary Jane George are my great-grandmother's siblings.

Can you clarify the info. on John & Zilly ??

Thank you much. Bev.

You are more than welcome! Wadley is a ways from me but there were three cemeteries with a total of 68 requests, some going back to 2012. I guess nobody down that way does FindAGrave so my sister and I decided to knock 'em out today. Road trip! :)

Feel free to use the photo any way you like.

I don't have first hand information.
I do know that he had two wives from my research and it could very well be in err.

My lineage is from the Harriet Goddard branch, i.e. one of his other wives.

I don't have any information on the other wife. I do know that the first name is Mary. I have Elder as the last name, however that could be wrong.

You're welcome. I am only paying it forward. I've so many relatives, like everyone else, in every state that I have to rely on others for their time and support and I truly appreciate what everyone does for each other.

Hello Jerry,

I just now found your message about using a photo I took for Glenna Rodden. That is perfectly fine. I am happy you were able to use it. If I can be of any further help, please let me know.

Jerry-I will check again but I had the cemetery pinpoint the location on a map and that location had no marker. Grave 21 was in the front row so it would have been hard to miss.

RE: John Nix and Mary Ellen Beasley
Thanks for all the info! So, should I leave the memorial up and state that they are buried in another cemetery and this one is only a memorial in the Wyly Cemetery or just delete the memorial? What do you think? I don't want to confuse or mislead anyone on it.

Yes...I see what you mean about the memorials being duplicates. I went by a cemetery list..perhaps they made a mistake on it? I will be glad to remove it! The one you had showed the actual headstone! I don't live in the area to actually go to the Wyly cemetery and see for myself. The only way to know for sure......I have a relative that has two stones in cities 100 miles apart. One she was buried in and the other is a memorial with her husband. I wish I could be more help on this. Let me know if you find out and I will delete mine as I don't want have false info on the site! Thank You for letting me know of this! Have a great evening! Magpie
