I am 64 years old and love doing family research. I live in Alvin, TX and love to fish. I have 3 little dogs that I adore. I believe in God and Country and the men & women who defend it. I'm also old, Irish and not shy. Have a great day. |
I want everything to be as correct as I can make it. I do this out of respect for them and who they were. As I am also researching family I try to have the same consideration for others as I expect from them. Even with my own family if someone see's something they think is wrong I'd like to know it and then I may or may not change it according to what I have and what I know. I've learned not even gov documents are always correct nor name spellings on them. So good thing I like fishing because in some cases it takes a lot of it to find out anything or another family member in this up to their necks with lots of resources. I have two of those in my family.... God Bless all those dedicated to obtaining correct information and supporting and working together on sites like Find A Grave and Ancestry.
One thing that bothers me is people who add photo's of stones at such an angle or distance that it can not be read or with flowers obstructing the information on the stone. To me if the stone can't be read DON'T PUT IT ON THE MEMORIAL. The stone has important information on it that we need as verification of information. To me take flowers off and get over the stone and close enough to be able to read it in the photo. The stone is the most important thing, not the flowers on it.

you have Velva Marie McDowell listed as Velma. I put a correct listing with the grave photo on the site.
If you would rather have the photo listed under yours, please correct her name and let me know. I will delete mine and add the photo to yours.

Thank you for the grave information. I added the source info and moved him to the correct cemetery. Together we can put all our families back together.

My pleasure, I wish I had seen your profile page before I went to the cemetery. I looked at your photo request and found I could have got all your request for Rose Hills.
I live over a hundred miles away and don't get out there very often. I only took the request I found in one section of the cemetery because it is so big and difficult to find graves. I think that had a child do the number system to find there plots. Also a lot of the stones you have to probe and dig to find.
Anyway I am glad I could help you with that one.

Your very welcome Roanna. She had told me she missed her daughter very much and was afraid she would be forgotten. I had told her i would visit her again and even had her on my page for either her angel or birthday, so she would be remembered. I will visit your sister too again.

Following info provided by Carolyn (#48192601);
I am the granddaughter of Bessie Ann Beavers Lewis. Her father was William Louis Beavers. I knew him and Mollie well until her death in 1949 and his death in 1952. I attended both of their funerals. Margaret Elizabeth "Mollie" Pridmore was married to William Louis Beavers. Mattie Pridmore was her sister and lived with Mollie and W.L. Mollie gave birth to Maude Lee Beavers on August 25, 1888, Mattie gave birth to Bessie Ann Beavers on August 23, 1888. This is documented in the Family Bible in W. L. Beavers handwriting. Josie's birth is recorded on April 12, 1890. I was not aware that there was an Infant Beavers, child of W.L. and Mattie. The information about Mattie being our biological great-grandmother was just discovered in recent years by a cousin doing genealogy research. We learned that our grandmother, Bessie, didn't learn that Mollie wasn't her biological mother until she was 32 years old. Mollie passed away during the night with Bessie holding her in her arms. I was 9 years old and remember her and grandpa very well. I have a picture of her and my grandmother Bessie looks so much like her.

I removed 2 photos. Are you related to this Crowder? My great grandfather is buried in this cemetery. I don't know the connection to the Crowders. My g grandfather was J. D. Nichols
