RE: Jonathan and Agnes Bivens I can email an image of the 1830 census and other data that convinces me that my family is not descended from Elijah. There is no doubt that we go to Jonathan and Agnes. It is stuff that Cynthia did not have when I was in contact with her and Wilma.
RE: Jonathan and Agnes Bivens I don't know John's parents yet but he was born in Maryland according to the 1850 census, the last he appeared in when he lived with his daughter Elizabeth near Jonathan and Agnes. From there I can follow him backward into Kentucky to 1810. When I first found him I was surprised that Cynthia Porcher and Wilma Linder (who first made the linkage with Elijah to me over 10 years ago) had missed him. Although I did have to read the 1830 census for the entire county (Daviess County, IN) since he was not in the index for some reason. There were a number of Bivens marriages in this county and they were children of John. Several of these moved to Warren County, Illinois between 1845 - 1855 as did with Jonathan and Agnes. I was pretty excited to find John and fill in several blanks but nobody else seems to be aware of his existence.
Jonathan and Agnes Bivens Hi Gene, I am Calvn Bivens 3rd great grandson of Jonathan and Agnes. I have some things I would like to share with you - Jonathan (b1805) didn't die in 1865, he was alive in Putnam Co., MO in 1870 and is found in the census next to his son Benjamin (their surname was misspelled by a transcriber)
Our branch of the family has had our first DNA testing done and there is 0% Native American in our blood
My line is back as follows: Calvin L. Bivens/ Lester L. Bivens/ Daniel Watson Bivens / Benjamin W. Bivens / Jonathan Bivens
I do not believe this family is descended from Elijah either. I have John in the 1830 census who is doubtless the father of Israel.
If you have questions I have some answers, probably not all, but I'm working on it (LOL) my email is email@example.com
