Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hi everyone!
We would like to say Thank You to the people that created Find A Grave for providing a wonderful place to store memorials. This site has provided us with information on some of our relatives so we decided to do our part to help others find theirs.
We would also like to thank all the volunteers that give so many hours of their valuable time to photographing and researching information for Find A Grave.
We heard once that if you haven't grown up by the age of 50, you don't have it! So we have decided not to grow up! We love living in and digging up the past. Do you remember as a kid playing in the attic of grandma & grandpa's house? We do. We still spend time in dusty attics, cemeteries, libraries, and courthouses researching family history. Genealogy researching has become a passion for us, along with our love for traveling.
Kim was raised in Nebraska, joined the Navy and lived in several states. He retired out of the Navy after 23 years and settled down in Iowa to enjoy his retirement. Virginia was raised and lived in Idaho. Then in 2004 we found each other and have devoted our lives to family history. Kim volunteered for the Idaho State Archives creating indexes and organizing collections. Virginia volunteered for the Idaho State Archives, Washington State Archives, FamilySearch, worked for the Idaho State Archives and currently maintains the website for Canyon County Idaho USGenWeb.
If you are trying to locate someone in your past or would like to get pictures of loved one's tombstones, please feel free to contact us. As we travel this great country of ours, we may be in the right place at the right time to help you. You can also follow us on Facebook. Look for Kim Vaught, Virginia Doughty Vaught, Ancestry Indexer, and Canyon County IDGenWeb Project.
We love chatting about genealogy and connecting people with their past.

God Bless You!
Kim & Virginia

Thank You
Thank you for trying to fill my photo request for Mary J. Cruickshank in the Floyd Cemetery. Since there was no gravestone for Mary, I have removed my request. I appreciate your time and effort very much.

I wanted to get back to you on this one. It still could be two separate people. This is what I found out about Section CD from the directory...

CD is Section C, which is not marked on the maps for some reason. If you look at the Floyd map in the book, it is the thing that looks like an island at the end of Section B. The D is row D; row A starts toward the curved end, just beyond the 2 pie-shaped areas next to Section B.

So, there is a possibility that it is two separate people. And the directory does list them both. That said, the records for Floyd aren't the best. So, I will continue to look into this. Thank you for the head's up.

It is very strange that they have CD listed as the section in the directory. I am going to reach out to my contact at the cemetery and see what that possible could be. The records for Floyd are a bit messy and it may be that this is a duplicate memorial. But I will find out for sure and let you know.

Please remove the photo from Chris Delfs memorial. I have the directory for Floyd Cemetery and according to the directory both Chris and Christian are buried in Floyd. And the sections listed are what is listed in the directory. I will look into the section further next week, but as it is right now, there should be two separate memorials.

I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how much I appreciate your taking time to answer my request. I live in Colorado and my trips to Iowa are far a few between. I didn't realize that my Great Aunt LaVonne was also buried here.

Thanks again!

Virginia and Kim,

Thank you for your work! Should you find yourself in the area of Lebanon Springs, Columbia County, New York, I would love any information on an ancestor named Thankful Amanda Magaw. What I find on Ancestry states that she was born there, that her parents are unknown, but that her father was possibly a sea captain lost at sea. I've also read that she was taken in by a Reverenc Pratt and his two sisters. Not much to go on, and I have been trying for years to learn more.
If anyone has information or suggestions, I'd be grateful. Thanks to all who help!

Robin
