Born in Springfield, MA in 1952, for the past 35 years I have been in the retail automobile business managing at all levels, consulting and training in both sales and service. I have three children, 2 sons and a daughter ages 28, 31 and 34. My first grandchild was born December 1, 2010! Another generation to follow!
On September 22, 2007, I married my second wife, Karen J (Thurber) Murphy. Karen is the widow of Wayne E Murphy (1952-2001/Memorial #37248763) and has 2 children, a son age 25 and a daughter age 22.
My first exposure to genealogy was in 1969 when a cousin sent me a brief description of 4 generations of my paternal lines. I was intrigued at the time, but work, marriage, kids and life in general were my priorities for quite a while. I really didn't start concentrating on genealogy as a hobby until about 1998. I'll be starting and on-line course through Boston University to become a Certified Genealogist which I should be able to complete by the spring of 2013.
Contact me anytime with corrections, links, transfers (according to policy) or adding information. I will respond as quickly as is reasonable.
Since 2008, I have been collaborating with John P O'Connor at the Museum of Springfield History where we have uploaded over 26,000 records and thousands of photographs.
I offer family research services as well as classes in introductory through advanced genealogical research through my website www.oldbones.co.
Currently, I am a member of several genealogical associations including the New England Historic Genealogical Society, Association of Professional Genealogists, Massachusetts Genealogical Council, Western Massachusetts Genealogy Association and others.

 | Russel and polly Hello again Dave - No, that is fine, go ahead and transfer them to him. He Knows for certain, while i am still trying to dig mine up... Pun intended! I do appreciate your adding the dates. Could you per chance ask him if he knows about the "a" sackett that is buried there as well? It would be most appreciated! Thanks again- Alice | | | Alice Wunderland
 | Russell and Polly Sackett Hi again Dave;
Sorry, I had copied the location, then forgot to add it! This is the stone:
Created by: Dave Robison Record added: May 28, 2009 Find A Grave Memorial# 37604395
It is in the "Old Burying Ground" for Westfield Ma.
I am not certain at this point if they are related, as I am still researching my Sackett relatives. There is an "A. Sackett in this Cemetery, but the only thing on it is died: 1831. I have an Adner Sackett that was supposed to have lived in Westfield, MA, but have not been able to find ANYTHING on him, other than the fact that his daughter married Dr. James Trowbridge. I have the information from their marriage on, but am looking to substantiate her parents somehow - The wife's name was Mary Barker, or Mary Baker - and they were prob. born about 1760-1770 - Olive their daughter was born in 1797. Olive and James were married in Warren, Worcester MA in 1816.
Thanks in advance for your help! Alice | | | Alice Wunderland

 | RE: Josiah Hitchcock Hi Dave!
How exciting! Thank you so much for your quick response and great information.
Sadly, we're not related. I'm doing research on my niece's husband's family as a gift, and working my way slowly up his line. I'm only to Josiah's parents, John & Abigail {Stebbins}. I haven't even found their birth & death dates yet.
Nonetheless, I am thrilled to have the information you sent, and know my nephew-in-law and his mother will be too.
Again, thank you! MonaAdded by ManxCat on Mar 13, 2013 11:32 AM | | | | [View all messages...] |
